Thanksgiving Special

This isn't an actual part of the story, just a little love for a holiday that I really like. The book, later on, might reference this short, but you can skip over it if you'd like to. Since it's a short, it won't be as long as other chapters. I'll still be updating on Friday.

When (Y/n) woke up, she could already tell that her mom had been in the kitchen about an hour prior. This was all due to the smell of Thanksgiving dinner that was already been started on, even though it was only 10.

Every year before, it was tradition to snap the wishbone with her father, which is why this year it seemed a little less joyful to celebrate. Usually nobody would visit on the thanksgiving because everyone knew that (Y/n)'s mom would keep you there all day, but this year (Y/n) had three different dinners to go to.

The first, obviously, being her own family's, the second being what Richie had mentioned as 'Losersgiving' wi Co was apparently a tradition for them. And third, Caiden's family. She was really nervous about meeting Caiden's family, due to the fact that she was his girlfriend and didn't know how they would react.

(Y/n) had seen Caiden's mom once or twice, with maybe a friendly wave of smile, but never had a conversation with her.

So, three events, three outfits, and ten times the amount of worry.

(Y/n) usually just wore something comfy that was stylish for Dinner with her family, so some jeans and a cute blouse. For the Losersgiving, (Y/n) had no idea what to expect so she would have to text Beverly about that. And lastly, for Caiden's Thanksgiving dinner, a modest dress as not to seem rude, but not too flashy, so that she isn't overdressed.

When the time came, (Y/n) got dressed in some light ripped jeans and a tight black long sleeved turtleneck bodysuit. She looked amazing in it. She pulled her (h/c) hair into a bun, pulling out a few strands. As she walked out the door, she pulled on a brown trench coat and some brown flats.

"I'm here!" She yelled, entering Stans house. They always had it there apparently. Since Stans parents liked to travel and his dad was the rabbi, they were going to be all over Derry this year. They always made dinner traditionally and left it for Stan.

"You're early." Stan says, fidgeting with his hands. "It smells amazing!" The girl complimented, hugging him. "T-thanks. You can have a seat." He replies hugging her back. When they pull away, (Y/n) helps Stanley set the table, folding the napkins into little roses.

"That's adorable. Where'd you learn to do that?"
"My grandma on my moms side. She loves this sort of stuff."
"Interesting." He smiles.
"You should smile more often. It's pretty."
"Pretty?"
"Yeah."

The two were in comfortable silence when (Y/n) heard a noise. She looked back and saw that it was just Richie.
The other losers filled in and they all sat down to eat. It was peaceful while handing out food, until Richie stops everyone and asks, "What about prayers?"
"I'm Jewish." Stan says
"I'm an atheist." (Y/n!) follows
Richie 'oh'ed and decided on a toast instead.
"To the losers, including (Y/n) who's more a part of us than I am of Eddies Moms schedule. She's expecting me later." He winks.
It was a mixed reaction. Eddie was yelling at him, Stan rolled his eyes. Mike shook his head with a smile. Beverly, Bill, Richie, (Y/n), and Ben were all cracking up though.

"Thank you guys so much! Have a good rest of your day!" (Y/n) yelled, running out of the house. They'd finished dinner and now onto the next house. When she got home the (h/c) girl ran to find her modest black dress and spice up her makeup, taking her hair out of the bun and pulling the top of it back. She changed from flats to wedges and wore one of Caiden's Baseball jackets.

When she knocked on the door, she was greeted by Caiden. She gave him a quick kiss and headed in the house with him. When Julie (His mom) saw her, she smiled. "She's so beautiful! You guys look amazing together! Thank you for coming, dear." She beamed. "Thank you for inviting me. I'm so looking forward to having dinner with you guys." Said the (h/c) girl. "I'm (Y/n) by the way, Mrs. Anderson." She grins, holding her hand out. Julie shakes it, "Just call me Julie, please.

Caiden smiled at the two, watching them bond quickly. He kind of hoped that his brothers wouldn't get the chance to meet her anytime soon. However, that wasn't too true because they were going to be home for the holidays.

"And there he was as a baby!" Julie points at a picture of little Caiden in a high hair. "Aww!" (Y/n) tilted her head.

"MOM WE'RE HOME!" Yelled two male voices. A set of twins walked into the dining room. They looked kind of like Caiden but a little taller and with a different nose.
"And who's this?" One asked.
"Cameron, this is (Y/n)." Julie says.
"It's a pleasure." Says the (h/c)
"I'm Cameron."
"And I'm Kaleb. How are you here?"
"I'm Caiden's girlfriend."

Speak of the hottie. Caiden walks in and pulls (Y/n) in for a kiss. "Hi baby, I see you've met the twins." He says in a gentle voice. "Hi baby." Kaleb mocks, to which Cameron says, "I see you've met the twins." In the same high pitch.
They start bickering and Julie yells, "QUIET!" Following with, "Can we please all sit down?" In a calm manner.

(Y/n) sat next to Caiden and Elijah, his younger brother who was about 10. He smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Sorry I'm late honey." Apologizes Mr. Anderson.
"It's alright dear. Have a seat."
"And who's this young lady?" He asks
"Caiden's girlfriend." Kaleb replies.
"Wonderful to meet you. I'm Caiden's dad. Just call me Miles."
"(Y/n)."
"Caiden talks about you a lot." Miles says.
"Oh really? What does he say?" She asks.
The twins butt in, "She's so sweet!"
"And so pretty."
"She's so soft."
"And a really good kisser."
(Y/n) giggled. "Good to know."

The whole family seemed to like her, which was really nice. After that, her own dinner. (Y/n) showered and left her hair down, changing into some sweats, a big sweater, and fuzzy socks. She walked out to see her dad.

With tears, (Y/n) ran up and wrapped him in a hug.
"I've missed you so much!"
"I missed you too kiddo. That's why I'm staying for a week."
"Really?"
"Yeah."

Thanksgiving was good for (Y/n) (L/n) .

Ik it sucked a little, but it's something. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! Enjoy eating and enjoy your families. Have an amazing day, Lovelies! I'll update tomorrow!
