Part 19

As I drove up and then parked in front of the address Sapph gave me, I contemplated if I should knock on the door and ask for her or just call her to come out, I decided on calling her.

She picked up on the first ring, and I could hear there was laughter in the background and she was giggling too. She said "Hello, Valentine: Yeah we can see you through the window, come in, all my friends want to meet you." I responded with "Um okay, I'll be right in."

I looked at my appearance in my phone camera and kind of tried to tame my curly brown hair running my fingers through it, I thought about how I definitely needed to get it cut.

I noticed how my face looked a little tired. So I slapped my cheeks lightly to get the blood flowing in my dumb face.

I always kept a small bottle of cologne in my car for sudden occasions just like this, and I took it out of my compartment and sprayed some on the sides of my neck and my wrists, a little on my jacket too. Then I took out my watch that was in my pocket and put it on.

I thought to myself in Jamal's voice. "You got this Valli boy." As I walked to the front door. I rang the door bell twice and stood there like a hopeless idiot.

Within 5 seconds the door was opening and in front of me was a very buzzed Gaspard. As soon as our eyes met I said in a friendly tone "Hey is Sapphire here? I'm here to pick her up." Before I could say anything else Gaspard grabbed me by my shirt, yanked me in as he said "Come in, my old friend! We've been waiting for youuuuu! Hahaha."

As he put his arm over my shoulders and kept me close to him, we were walking down a fairly long hallway and I was wondering who's beautiful house this is? He yelled out "Hey, mon cher, your Romeo is here." I heard music, laughter and the sound of atleast ten or more voices coming from where he yelled towards.

As we entered what I guessed was the living room of this lively house I saw Sapphire standing next to a very attractive couple, with a glass of red wine in her hand and she was throwing her head back and laughing at something the man just said.

Man let me tell you I felt like I could drop to my knees looking at Sapphire. If I didn't keep my composure. I knew she was beautiful. Her tall height and broadly built body always enticed me, but the way she looked tonight was other-worldly.

She was wearing two gold shiny thin bracelets on her forearms. And she was wearing gold rings on her left hands middle and index fingers. Her hair was up in a low pony tail with her black curls falling down her back. She was wearing a natural look with her make up, and she had two necklaces on, where the chains were thin but the pendent was big, resting just above her cleavage.

But above all, her dress, her dress was illuminating, it was shimmering so brightly it was hard to take your eyes off of. It was a mix of light gold and silver. It went down to her ankles, and it hugged her body just enough, but not too tightly. On her feet she had on these sparking golden heels, that complimented her dress.

When she saw me she told her friends to excuse her and started looking around for her wallet, she saw it on a nearby sofa and quickly went and grabbed it. Then she started walking up to me with a smile. As she took her first couple steps toward me I started feeling light headed and hot. She looked into my eyes with affection and said "Hi."

Thats all I remember before I passed out and fell to the floor. I imagined Jamal saying "I guess she really did bring you down to your knees Valli boy."

As I started waking up, I realized I was on the same sofa that I had seen Sapph grab her wallet off of, I sat up feeling confused that no one was in this room but I heard all the same voices and music now at a lower volume coming from what seemed like another room in the house a bit far away.

I sat up too quick and my head hurt. I tried to remember all the dreams I had and wondered how long I had been asleep. I checked the time on my watch, it was 9 pm. I guess I was knocked out for a couple hours.

I had some really weird dreams. I saw a bunch short dreams, all with a different setting, but all having the exact same result. Me in a unknown mans body, Sapphire, herself but always in a different look, telling me the same thing each dream, telling me that we've been lovers many times and that I keep dying and being reborn, and her always finding me, in every life.

After I was done trying to remember my dreams. I started going down a dark alley in my mind, how stupid I probably looked as Gaspard probably caught me, and laid me down on the sofa.

Oh god I'm such a moron. I thought to myself I should leave, call Sapphire tomorrow. And that's what I would've done if I hadn't heard a particularly sweet voice say to me as I was just about to walk out the door:

"I thought you wanted answers, I thought we were going to talk."

I thought for a second to say something aloof and then go home but realized that wouldn't  help me achieve anything so I closed the door, turned around and said "I was just embarrassed with how I...ah...um...you know...fainted, so that's why I was leaving."

Sapphire walked up to me slowly and said "Well I've been waiting for you to wake up, so we could talk, so do you wanna go to my house?"

I awkwardly said "Yes only if you want to though, I don't wanna ruin the fun you and your friends are having at this party."

She looked at me with a slightly bored expression and said  "You're not ruining any fun. We do this...every...um never mind, let me just go tell Gaspard we're leaving. I'll meet you at your car, okay?"

Any other day I would've just said ok and went to my car but today wasn't anything less then a weird ass day, and I said "What were you gonna say? You do this every what?" Her eyes went wide at my question and she quickly said "Every year, we have this party." I looked at her suspiciously and said "That's not what Gaspard said."

She looked at me shocked and out of breath even though she was just standing there and said "I don't know what you're talking about." 

I smirked at her. And said "Okay I'll be in the car, take your time." Before exiting the house and walking to my car.
