"Hey Draco...?"

Draco bristled, he knew I wanted something.

"What is it, queer?"

I slapped the back of his ridiculously soft haired head.

"Shut it, queer." I sneered back.

He stiffened and looked round.

"Shhhhh! Stuff it Pans!"

I punched his arm playfully.

"Calm your knickers, everyone knows you've got a stiffy for Potter." I snorted.

Draco rolled his eyes, but his pale face reddened.

"Why are you so abusive!"

I frowned and turned away.

"You know I loathe that word."

"I do too, Pans, I'm joking!"

"I know."

Draco laid a gentle hand on my shoulder.

"I know." His smile was strained.

"I'll lighten up." He nodded.

"What is it?" His tone was still gentle and light.

I smiled mischievously. Turning dramatically, I kneeled. I took his hand in my right.

"Shit, Pans."

Draco sighed exasperatedly and dragged a hand down his pointy face.

"You're so dramatic!"

I exaggerated silencing him and placed my left hand on my breast.

"Will you, Draco Lucius Malfoy, by my escort to the Yule Ball this Christmas?"

Draco blew the bangs from his eyes in a heavy breath. Then he smiled, and it was the truest, most genuine smile he ever directed at me. I was suddenly proud of my ridiculousness.

He knelt, with more practiced dramatic flare than I could ever muster, and mirrored my enthusiasm.

"It would be my honor, my dear Pans."
