Chapter 7 : Pirates

Third person POV

They finally are organised. Error and his crew will sometimes go off on the sea to try to make the ships afraid to come near the island. Horror being alright now will go with them. Robin proposed to stay at the island, in case they need a fighter, because they can't rely all the time on the Angels and Lamias. They need to deal with their problem themselves.

Error and Template agreed even if they suspect Moon to be the main reason for Robin's desire to stay on land.

They will always be back for the new moon. Since most of the group are just civilians, they will stay on the island and help each other out. Template will be a bit like the mayor since he knows what that job is about.

Anyway, the crew is getting ready.

Horror and Plum are hugging each other. Plum still keeps Horror's cloak, but the cracked skull doesn't care, since it helps his tiny lover. Once Plum finally releases Horror from his hug, Farmer goes up to the cracked skull, and kisses him softly.

Farmer : Take care of yourself, for us both.

Horror : Alright.

Dust and Killer are getting on board without a care in the world. Error and Cross go on "mom mode" and give a "to do, not to do" list to their siblings who just nod like robots.

Blue looks at Robin and indicates by clear signs "if something happens to Myriad, I kill you", then leaves. Fell ends up grabbing the two moms and dragging them on board. Everyone waves goodbye to the crew.

Killer POV

We drift off. Dust is making sure there isn't any ship near the island, except us. I am sitting next to Horror, playing with my knife.

Killer : Are you sure you shouldn't have stayed with Plum longer ? He doesn't speak, unless it is you...

Horror : ... Yeah. It could force him to open up. Like that, he will see the world isn't that bad. He can't just always rely on me... And he does speak a bit with Farmer. So, there is no reason to worry, for me.

Blue : I see what you mean. He needs to get over it at least enough to continue to live like everyone does. Life never goes easy on anyone, after all.

I nod. Horror is taking care of his axe. He has two of them on each side of his pants and I know he has a butcher knife hidden in his pocket, ready to kill, if needed.

Anyway, we suddenly hear Dust screams at us.

Dust : Guys, there is a ship !! He is going in the direction of the island !

Error : Prepare to attack it, at least, enough to scare those guys away !

We nod and all get ready. Hm ?

Killer : Blue. You recognise it too, right ?

Blue : Hm ?

He turns to see what I am pointing at.

Blue : Great, just great. Guys !! You can kill, if you need. Those guys are from the black market ! They are scum !

We see everyone nod. I get ready to infiltrate the ship. Of course, no one expects someone to get on a ship like Tarzan with his liana. I even kick someone off the deck. I grin, proud of myself. I hear Error orders me and Blue to see if there are civilians to spare in this scum ship.

Blue goes with me. I sneak in each room, before allowing him in. I kill two guys, in the cales of the ship and hear a squeak.

We turn to see what it was, to see...

Blue : Mermaid or Siren ?

Killer : ... Mermaid. I read somewhere that Sirens have tribal tattoos.

There are two mermaids in a huge tank. One with a golden tail, trembling and another one purple, clearly afraid, but being protective.

Blue : What do we do ?

Killer : Stay here and protect them. I am going to report to Error to see what to do.

He nods and I rush upstairs. Welp, they killed or captured everyone. I poke Error's shoulder and whisper to him what we found.

He is deep thinking. He sighs and gives his orders.

Error : Horror, go and see if they have food to steal, Dust, go help Blue below. Cross, Red, go make sure they don't have something that could be useful for us with me. Killer... I let you "clean up".

I nod, understanding what he means, and why everyone has to leave. I kill them all. We can't risk them to tell about the Mermaids or they could also endanger the other species.

I throw the body at the sea. Blue is getting out carrying the purple mermaid who tries to free himself. During his struggles he loses his crown. Error signals Blue to put the mermaid in a barrel he filled with sea water in case. Dust is luckier, the golden one is just crying and behaving. So he puts the mermaid softly in the barrel and wipes his tears.

I go to the purple one and hand him back his crown.

Killer : I am pretty sure you don't speak our language, unlike the others, but sorry for it.

He snatches his crown back and glares at me. I sigh, go to the barrel of the other and ask Horror to help me lift it. He does and we put them side by side, so they can hug.

Which they do as soon as possible. I got the cord and we tied up the barrels together. Then Horror and Blue moves it and we use the lift for the rescue ship to lower the barrels.

Killer : Be careful to not get capture again !!

The purple one looks at us in shock, while the golden one smiles innocently and waves us goodbye. I see Cross blushes, surely because of how cute the smile is. They get underwater then and we get our barrel back. We set the black market ship on fire and leave to continue our check up.

Nightmare POV

That's so weird. I would have expected them to try to sell us. The black tears ones talk about "others". What does he mean ?

I get out of my thoughts by hearing a familiar voice.

? : Princes !! There you are !

Dream : Oh, Blueberry ! Sorry to have worried you.

Behind Blueberry are his brothers, Blackberry and Raspberry. Ras is looking at the corps of those who captured us.

Ras : What happened ?

Nightmare : We got capture by them, then rescued by another mortal group.

Ras chokes on water. He is holding back swearing, it is clear.

Ras : Is that a joke ?! We need to kill those mortals. Blueberry. Bring the princes back into the castle. Blackberry, you come with me.

Neither do Dream or me have the time to say anything. We look at each other, in complete panic.

Blueberry : ... Princes... don't you dare...

We rush after Ras and Black and Blueberry ends up trying to catch up with us.
