Dawsons P.O.V.

I wake up to someone knocking on my door repeatedly.  "What" I yell out and the door opens to Dallas standing there fully dressed, "Want to go get breakfast," he asks and I nod, "Yeah sure let me get dressed," I say. He nods and closes my door. I get up and changed into dark green jeans and a white hoodie then walk into my bathroom and brush my teeth and run a hand through my hair. I quickly grab my wallet and phone before walking out. "You're driving," I call out while walking downstairs. "Whatever," Dallas says and grabs his things while we walk out the door and get into his car. "How'd things go with Cat last night," he asks as he drives down to the river-front. "They went good I actually called her." "Oh shit, look at you being a man," he laughs. "Hey, I'm trying my best but we both remember what happened last time I talked to a girl," "Dude, I love you but you have to have faith that not every girl is like Madison. Yes, she was terrible and fucked you over but, you need to try to get back out there and who knows maybe this Cat girl will be good for you," He says sincerely. That's the thing about Dallas he always knows how to give me a good pep talk. Maybe he's right. Maybe I do need to try with Cat.

We get to the river-front and park in one of the free parking areas with a parking pass that every member of our family has. We get out and walk down to the front and start walking to one of the many restaurants on the front. We end up eating at a small cafe with me getting my usual coffee and a cinnamon sugar cronut with maple sugar glaze while Dallas gets his coffee and a bacon, egg and, cheese burrito with avocado for some no reason. "How are you and Brooklyn," I ask between bites. "We're good," he says and drinks his coffee. "Didn't she come over like a night ago because she was worried about you two," I ask and he nods. "Yeah she did." he says and takes a minute before continuing, "She's just so worried about us and I don't know how to tell her how much I love and care about her," he says and I look at him wide-eyed before laughing, "I knew you were whipped," "Oh shut up you know I love her," he says and I nod. "It is obvious but, is it obvious to her," I ask. "I don't know. I hope so. I think so." "You should tell her." I suggest and Dallas shakes his hand, "I feel like it's too soon maybe closer to Christmas," he says and I nod in agreement.

We finish eating and decide to walk to the Andrew Lowe house, "Dude remember when we went on a ghost tour there," I ask and Dallas nods, "And you wouldn't let me scare you." "You didn't let me scare you either so don't get mad." "Yeah, yeah whatever," all the sudden my phone goes off and I pull it out

Cat :)
"Hey" - 12:24 PM

"Hey, what's up" - 12: 24 PM

"You texting your girl," Dallas asks and I look at him, "Not my girl," I remind him and he shakes his head. "Yet," he says and I side glance at him while I watch the three little dots bounce as Cat types. Dallas looks over to my screen, "Oh please tell me you put that smiley face there," he says while laughing and I shake my head. "She did it when putting her number in," I reply and he nods but clearly doesn't believe it. He shouldn't, I put the smiley face there. However, I still want zero shit for it. Dallas and I walk around for a bit before heading home. When we get home Dallas heads to his room and I head to mine. I grab my headphones and shuffle play Lewis Capaldi's song and skip till I finally land on "Before You Go". I let the words and melody swarm around me as I let the lyrics sink into me. I used to wonder who I should blame my issues on before I finally settled on myself. I was to blame. That was until Madison or Maddie as she made me call her. She hated her full name so I used to do it to annoy her as a joke. Only she never took it as a joke. So I stopped and only called her Maddie. I thought she would solve all my problems and she did, or so I thought. Everything went great in the beginning until she started forcing me to go to parties. And if I didn't go she'd ignore me for days until I'd apologize and then she'd forgive me.

My phone buzzes pulling out of my phone to see that Cat texted me.

Cat :)
"I typed a response and it didn't send :( anyways I'm chilling
not quite sure what to do around here" - 1:34 PM

"Haha I hate when that happens but I could show you
some of Savanah if you'd like" - 1:34 PM

"Oh my gosh really? That sounds like fun." - 1:35 PM

"We can go now if you want?" - 1:35 PM

Cat replies saying that she can't drive over here yet because she'd probably drive on the wrong side of the road which makes me laugh and I agree to pick her up in thirty minutes and she sends me her address. I get up and grabs my wallet, phone, and keys before knocking on Dallas's door and saying that I'm going to a friend's. He nods and goes back to whatever he was doing. I head to Cat's house with my phone's GPS leading the way. I arrive at Cat's house, like mine but bigger than mine but it's a light blue house with white trim and a small pathway leading from the driveway to a small porch. I get out and walk to the door and knock. Cat opens the door in a white sweater and black jeans and black ankle boots, "Hi," I say after a second and she smiles softly. "Hi," she replies and she steps out of the house and locks it and we head to the car. We get in and I look at her, "Where to," I ask with a ghost of a smile on my face.

I really need to stop smiling around this girl.
