Where are all the humanists? Hiding from the humans. If they're smart that is, and they are, that's why they're humanists. This is one of those goofy scenarios where humanists and anti-humanists(aristocrats) are basically the exact same thing. One group wants to see the species live up to it's full potential to the benefit of all, the other group wants the same, minus all the members of the species that muck it up(i.e. negate the whole process from the start). This is not to muddy the waters(ahh, that was a man, as he himself attested to, as he should), of the currently pristine social currents in which we currently cool our toes.
So, who will speak up in defense of those things that make being human actually bearable? Some interstellar beings who can raise us like pets? Trans-humanist trans-humans from the future come back to secure their origins? Self aware ficuses that want us to survive in order to keep on watering them?
