Chapter 1

I am Sirena Hertz Veyron, Young Lady of the Veyron main family

Duke Harry Veyron and Duchess Samantha Veyron are my parents

I have an elder brother his name is Xyron Veyron

We're just your normal typical noble family everything is normal and perfectly fine, except one thing...

I'm not sure if I'm the rightful owner of this body... I remember my past life although just little bits and pieces, I still am aware that I did had a past life

I remember being a scientist and dying because of a failed experiment inside the laboratory, and from what I know everyone inside the building that time died, no one was spared

That's all I remember

There are nights that my dreams are kind of weird, then I found out it was bits and pieces of my memories of my past life

Right now I'm just living my life here comfortably, although I'm not living with any of the family members

Yes, I live alone in the dukedom's territory with just the right necessities

Of course I am a duke's daughter, so some maids and servants are unavoidable

My parents and brother lives in the imperial city because father has some work to do and brother attends his academy which is situated in the imperial city, my mother also takes care of some businesses there, so it is indeed a convenience for them to live in the Imperial city

How about me? Why did I choose to stay here?

I have no particular reason to refuse nor to agree whether I live here or in the imperial city

I just do not wish to go through an arduous process such as travelling a long way all the way to the imperial city then checking identities and other tiring stuff

Actually, I lived with my brother until I was three. He only left for imperial city because he had to study as he reached the age of six

I've been here for twelve years already

Yeah I celebrated my birthday three months ago, more like.. Let the day pass

I mean, the people of the dukedom does celebrate it but I just let the day pass as I always have. I do not bother to plan an extravagant party for myself, instead I told my butler to make use of the fund given by my parents to do something about it

I didn't care how he make use of it since I am not in need of money anyway

I only found out that he gave money to the citizens of the dukedom telling them that I wish to not celebrate my birthday but instead help the people in their financial problems

That happened when I was four by the way, and it has been always like that until now

And that's why I am called a goddess in the dukedom, and it can be annoying that I sometimes want to strangle my butler to his death which is the person who started all of it

He should be thankful that he's been loyal to this household for two generations now or else I'll really end him

Anyway I received a letter from the Imperial capital, from my mother to be exact

From the way this letter was constructed, it seems like my mother is trying to summon me in the Imperial capital

Maybe it is an emergency so I'll be leaving the dukedom tomorrow at noon

I am packing things right now so I won't be bothered about it tomorrow

[time skip:night]

I am preparing to sleep right now when I saw a shadow sneak up behind me at the corner of my eye

A sharp short sword aimed at my throat, I immediately evaded it and stole the short sword aimed at me and our positions switched

I held the sharp short sword and pointed it at the assassin

The assassin smiled and let out a light chuckle

"still as agile and alert as ever, young lady of Veyron Familia"

"Rhys... did you find out why my mother sent me the letter?" I asked him as I put down the short sword and gave it back to him

"I still haven't, but I found clues though" he said as he showed a grin while removing his mask

A handsome man with red hair and eyes is now currently standing in front of me

"your hair is as beautiful as ever, rhys. How I wish I had your genes" I joked

"well our future children could inherit it though, don't you think so?" he said with a playful grin

I glared at him coldly

"shut it if you don't want to die" I stated

"nevermind, I still want to keep my precious life. Continuing my family's lineage is also important" he said with a wry smile

"Is my family at the Imperial Capital in any life threatening danger?" I asked

"not in any real danger, they are just living their life as they always have" he answered

"hmm.. I wonder why my mother sent me the letter..." I murmured to myself

"Young lady?" Rhys called out

"yeah?"

"you're already twelve aren't you?"

"yeah, why?..... Oh dear! Why did I not think about that!?"

"are you prepared about it young lady?" he asked with a hint of seriousness in his tone

"Can I just ditch it? I mean I still don't want to be tied down in a household where I'm prohibited to do a lot of things" I said with a down expression

"well it is unavoidable, you know what young lady?"

"what?"

"you're the only young lady of a house that I know of, who isn't excited about marriage"

"well, that's normal since I am also the only young lady that I know of that isn't excited about marriage, maybe because they are trained since young to be a house wife? And me? I'm here slacking off and doing things that girls in this era aren't supposed to be doing" I chattered while laying on the bed and trying to sleep

"well, have a good night sleep young lady. I'll be leaving."

"hmmm" I hummed as response, and I felt his presence go away
