I'm currently sitting inside a carriage comfortably as we started our journey to the imperial capital
After a few hours of travelling, night fell and my people started to arrange a simple camp and a small feast
the feast seemed like a feast for a big festival to me though =___=
The reason was my butler, he insisted on bringing a whole set of knights for protection
I didn't leave the carriage even when I hear the knights outside chatting and the booze they are drinking strongly permeates in the air to the point of the scent entering the carriage I am in
A maid knocked at the carriage door
"young lady, your food is here"
"keep it for now, I do not have the appetite for food right now"
"could something have displeased you young lady?" the maid asked, and worry is obvious in her tone
"oh, no it's nothing I just want to eat later. Worry not, I'm not that unreasonable. Now go and enjoy the feast" I said gently to ease the maid's worry and she also left for fhe feast
Minutes later of doing nothing inside the carriage, I finally decided to step out
I silently walked towards the noisy and joyous feast making sure that my presence would go unnoticed
They were talking happily and their laughs are the funniest thing I've seen in this day
I couldn't help but giggle
And because of that they finally noticed me as they all went silent and the only thing that could be heard were my giggles
"y-young lady?" the captain of the knights said with a confused expression
I finally sighed and stopped
"We apologize if we have bothered you with our noisy--"
"don't bother, it's fine to have fun sometimes. I just checked up on you guy" I said
"ah yes.. I heard that young lady doesn't have the appetite for food, did we do anything displeasing?"
"well, it's nothing. I'm just waiting for someone to come before eating" I said
And some sound of horses coming our way was heard
"speaking of the devil.." I murmured and chuckled
The knights and their captain and the maids I brought with me were jaw slacked when they saw the crest on the carriage and entourage coming our way
It was already night and the sorrounding is dark so the entourage coming our way is more noticable
"young lady, it's the neighboring empire's royal family crest from the south" butler Jacob said as he suddenly appeared by my side
He looked so alarmed about it too
"I know, I'm not blind though"
"we should leave now young lady, or else I won't be able to guarantee that we would be able to escape with our lives" the captain of the knights which is named Harold suggested with a serious expression
"calm down you two, it's not like the two empires are in a big feud. And also my father is quite close with the royal family of Eizan Empire" I said with a calm smile
The carriage coming our way finally came to a stop
"young goddess of Veyran's dukedom, come and greet our empire's crown prince" a servant of the entourage demanded with a haughty tone
"well yes, here I come. But would you at least mind not calling me young goddess? Just 'young lady' is fine" I said with a wry smile
The servant only harrumphed and did not reply
I walked closer to a certain carriage and a grin appeared in my face
I only stood there doing nothing
"what are you still there standing for woman? Go and greet our empire's crown prince" the servant earlier said with quite the temper
I glanced at him coldly
"shut up." I uttered with a chilling voice
"hah! Such insolence! Just you see for what will our prince do to such an insolent and insignificant girl like you!" he said with a flustered face
I turned my gaze back at the carriage
"Rhyscole come out here, don't let me make my move, I'm not as merciful as you are" I uttered coldly
"oh mama, we're done for. Who knew our young lady is this fierce"
I heard Harold murmur to his self
"You!! Guards! go teach this insolent fool just who she is trying to belittle!!"
The servant shouted at the top of his lungs with a red face
Tch. If this goes on, I'm afraid I'll take the lives of that idiot's people
"now, now everyone calm down and let me settle this" the guards the entourage brought were about to come after me when a voice suddenly interfered
"your highness" everyone stopped on their tracks as they bowed to a young man with red eyes and hair
He didn't bother to respond to them and walked towards me with a serious expression
"uh oh, we're really dead now. Look how serious the expression on his highness' face is"
I heard someone murmur
Rhys stood infront of me as we stared at each other
He suddenly smiled
"ehe, isn't young goddess a great nickname for you young lady?"
"tch. Took you long enough to get out, else I would've started a massacre"
"oh please, you wouldn't do that to my people, wifey" he said with a playful grin
"who's your wifey? Was last time not enough for you?" I said and pinched his ear and dragged him with me inside my carriage
