"... the worst mistake I made in my life was that I went back to that cafe... that stupid cafe.."
- Dante De Luca.

At the sight of them my heart fell, my blood running cold. I blinked multiple times, my head shaking ever so slightly. This couldn't be happening... it seemed as if it was all planned,

"How are you doing Scarlett?"

He asked in a sinister way. I gasped as quietly as I could, my heart doing the longest lap race ever on the field. My mind didn't register it but my feet shuffled backwards, trying to create as much distance as it could between the guy. I couldn't help but blurt out,

"Who... who are you?"

The guy raised an eyebrow and took steps towards me whilst replying,

"I'm sorry Scarlett. I never really did give you my name did I?"

I couldn't help but agree with him. He continued to walk until he changed his course last minute, now taking a seat to where I was once sat. He sat in a relaxed manner like he owned the place and said his name confidently,

"My names James but that doesn't matter does it?"

I couldn't say anything so I stood silent, allowing him to continue his speech,

"I see that you've got some very interesting friends. They didn't even pay for their food,"

He spoke as calmly as he could. He reached over and used the rim of his finger to trace around the the rim of the cup. He chuckled deeply before shaking his head,

"I see you've caught their eye Scarlett, they've been coming here often,"

By now his words made my heart want to leap out its boned cage, not wanting to be in the presence of him. He continued regardless,

"I've never seen a customer get all personal on an employee... heck I for a second I thought something was going on between you two,"

He said with a known doubt. He then sighed loudly before pushing his chair back, making his intention clear as he continued to walk towards me. I didn't hide the dear plastered on my face and continued walking backwards until I could no longer walk.

He stood a foot away with his hands tucked behind his back. He looked me up and down before saying,

"I've said so much... don't you have anything to say?"

I couldn't help but breath heavily the fear trying to radiate off me in any way possible. I spoke uneasily,

"Wha... what do you want from me?"

He inhaled deeply before bringing one hand from behind his back. He placed it on the wall by my face and spoke in a tone that made me pee a little,

"I wouldn't get comfortable around Dante and his friends Scarlett... they're bad news and I'm sure you feel it too,"

I didn't fully apprehend his words as my body shook with fear, my mind slowly filling with my past. Since I didn't say anything he then brought his other hand and traced my jaw with the pad of his thumb making me shut my eyes in disgust.

I couldn't help my nightmares resurface a little. Bit-by-bit my guard broke down, leaving me naked to the eye. I tilted my head to the side, trying to get rid of his touch but I couldn't. My mind was too exposed... too open to block out the vivid images that replayed from the past.
