Clary's POV

Our baby girl is now a year old and Jace and I are doing better than ever. He's been living with us for about a month now and it makes raising Lily so much easier. Plus, it's nice to live with the person you love.

Lately I've been really sick and I have no idea why. Jace is at work, Lily is with my dad for the weekend, and I am spending my day sitting next to the toilet.

"Oh fuck." I whispered.

Not again.

I grabbed my phone and called Magnus, since I knew he was the only one free today.

"Yes, biscuit?"

"Hey, could you do me a favor?"

"Sure. What's up?"

"Can you go get me a pregnancy test?"

"Oh. My. God. Yes! I'll be there soon!" He hung up and I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and puked again. For like the millionth time in the past few days.

Magnus arrived about an hour later and found me still sitting on the floor in the bathroom. I had already drank a ton of water so I'd have to pee when he got here with the test.

"Here you go, biscuit. I'll wait in the bedroom." He handed me a brown paper bag and left, closing the door behind him. I fought the nausea and got up to take the test.

Once I was done, I washed my hands and set the test on the counter before telling Magnus he could come in. I was already back to sitting beside my new best friend, aka the toilet, when Magnus came to sit in front of me.

"So, what are you hoping for? Positive or negative?"

"I honestly don't know. Jace and I are finally in a good place and I'm scared he'll leave again. If he leaves, I don't think I could take him back again."

"I understand. But, a baby is always a blessing, whether it was planned or not. Just try to remember that." I nodded and smiled at him.

"Thanks, Mags. I appreciate you bringing me the test. I've barely been able to leave this bathroom the past few days. I don't think I could've made it all the way to a drugstore without puking." We both laughed and he grabbed onto my hand.

"Anytime, biscuit." We sat there talking about random things until the timer on my phone went off.

Magnus stood first and helped me up. I took a deep breath and peered down at the test.

Positive.

It didn't take long for my vision to be blurred with tears, but it was for a different reason than last time. These were happy tears.

I laughed through my tears and gave Magnus a big hug. "Babe, I'm home!" Jace yelled and Magnus let me go.

Jace walked in but Magnus was blocking his view of the test sitting on the counter. "I'll let you two talk. Call me later, biscuit." I nodded and he left, but I took his spot, hiding the test behind my body.

"Are you crying? What happened?" Jace dropped his work bag on the floor and cupped my face in his hands, wiping away my salty tears.

"It's not a bad thing. They're happy tears." I said.

"Okay....." He looked conflicted. "What are you so happy about then?"

"Please, don't freak out." I moved away from the counter and watched his eyes roam around before he saw the test.

"Holy shit." He looked up at me for confirmation, but I was so nervous, all I could give him was a nod. "Fuck yes!" He picked me up in a hug and spun me around, making me giggle.

"So, you're happy about this?"

"Of course! I get another chance to do things the right way. Going to ultrasound appointments, shopping for baby clothes, setting up a nursery. I'm gonna be there for everything." Seeing the tears in his eyes made me let out a sob. "I'm so excited, baby."

"Me too." I cried, holding onto him like my life depended on it.

"I love you so much, Clary."

"I love you too, Jace.

That night when the nausea settled, Jace got us takeout and we had a little date night at the house. Just the two of us. We ate, watched a movie, had some 'fun', and then went to bed. We had a whole night to ourselves to just be with each other and enjoy our excitement about the baby.

We did call our families though to schedule a dinner at my dad's tomorrow, so that we could tell everyone about the pregnancy.

Once we woke up the next day, we both got dressed and headed to work. I usually didn't put much work into my appearance, but since I'm going to dad's right after work, I decided to dress up.

I wore a ruffled black shirt, a black and gold jacket, and black pumps.

I smiled all day, could barely focus on work, and hardly got anything done. When I got to my dad's, Jace was just pulling in as well, so we headed inside together.

Everyone else was already here. Simon, Izzy, Maryse, Robert, Alec, Magnus, Jon, and dad.

Maryse had my baby girl sleeping in her arms and I couldn't help but pluck her from Maryse's arms as gently as possible, as to not wake her. "Oh, I missed my baby." I gave her a kiss on the head and sat down on the couch.

"She did wonderful last night. She's getting better at staying asleep throughout the night when she stays with us. I think she's getting more comfortable with it.

Dinner came and went and once we were done eating, I grabbed Lily from her highchair and looked around at everyone. "So, Jace and I have something to tell you guys." I looked to him. "I did it last time. Do you wanna do it?" I whispered to him.

"I really do." He kissed my head and took a deep breath. "Clary and I are expecting. Again." He laughed and everyone was bursting with excitement.

We got congratulations from everyone and when I started getting tired, Jace drove us home. He put Lily to bed before joining me in ours.

It took me a while to fall asleep that night. I was just so excited about this baby. Laying cuddled up in Jace's arms, I wondered if this baby would have his eyes, or his hair. Or, would it have my eyes and my hair?

As soon as my brain calmed down, I quickly fell asleep in complete bliss.

I'm so happy......
