Phineas and the others were three-quarters of the way finished with the machine. Buford wiped the sweat off of his forehead.
Buford: "Phew! This is harder than I thought!"
Phineas: "Yeah..."
Phineas put his wrench in his back pocket.
Phineas: "Break time."
Just then, Candice walked into the backyard.
Candice: "Alright boys, what are y'all making this-"
She saw the machine.
Candice: "tiiiiiiiiiiiiimmme.... What is that?"
Phineas: "We're trying to make a portal that can transport us to another dimension."
Phineas explained all to Candice as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
Candice: "Oh Ho Ho... You two are gonna be SO busted this time! MOM! MOM!"
Candice ran back into the house. Their Mom was already about to walk out the front door.
Linda: "Candice, I'm already gonna be late for my classes, I don't have time for your crazy stories about some imaginary thing the boys made in the backyard."
Candice: "But but but b- wait? Classes? As in, college classes?"
Linda: "Yes. I never finish my courses so I'm going back to college. Now I won't be back until tonight, so you're in charge. Ok?"
Candice: "Ok..."
And just like that, Linda was gone.
Candice signed.
Candice: "Well, hopefully their machine will be here when Mom gets home..."
Candice sulked up to her room.
(Back outside)
The gang finished building the machine. It looked familiar, but they just couldn't put their finger on it...
Phineas: "Well gang, let's see if it works."
Phineas pushed the activate button on the machine, but nothing happen.
Buford: "Huh... Guess it doesn't work..."
Ferb saw words flashed on the screen. He gestured Phineas to it.
Phineas: "what is it, Ferb"
He read the words on the screen out loud.
Phineas: "Hmm... It says, 'waiting for second device'."
Isabella: "What does that mean?"
Phineas: "I'm not sure..."
Dimension: St4
Tails was putting the last double A batteries into the machine.
Tails: "All done!"
Knuckles: "Great! Now let's see if this thing works."
Sonic: "Yeah.'
Amy: "Eeeeek! I'm so excited!"
Tails: "Alright, here we go..."
Tails took a deep breath and pushed the activate button
CLIFFHANGER!!!
