Chapter Twenty Two - The First Wave

The time had come. Roman had gathered his army and marched upon the city of Musutafu. Before anyone could react, all hell had broken loose. The local authorities were quickly overwhelmed as Pro Heroes were called to the scene. It wasn't long before Musutafu had descended into chaos. Roman took pride in the chaos that his army was causing. 

Roman: Let them all know that the Age of Heroes has come to an end! As of now, this is the Land Of Do As You Please! Do as you please!

Roman's army began wreaking havoc on the city. Some of the lesser Pro Heroes attempt to take out Roman, he shoots bullets filled with the Quirk Destroying Drug, rendering them Quirkless. They were quickly overwhelmed by Roman's army. Meanwhile, Adam rallies the White Fang. 

Adam: Our time is now, brothers and sisters! For too long, frauds have taken up the mantle of Hero! They mock the ideals that a Hero stands for! We will purge them from this society! We will complete the work that the Hero Killer started!

As Adam raised his sword in the air, the soldiers  of the White Fang let out a roar that brought terror to the city. As Roman's forces continue to push into the city, Roman sets his eyes on UA. With a smile on his face, Roman turns to Neo. 

Roman: I think it's time we moved on UA! What better way to demonstrate our superiority than by taking over the top Hero school in the country?

Neo: I think that would be a splendid idea, Roman. 

With that, Roman began leading his forces to converge on UA. Meanwhile, Aizawa and the rest of the UA staff began preparing for Roman's assault, knowing UA would most likely be a target. 

Nezu: Are you certain Torchwick will attack UA?

Aizawa: I would bet my life on it. Taking UA would send a powerful statement. Just imagine what the repercussions would be like if Roman Torchwick was able to take over UA. 

The thought of Roman Torchwick taking over UA was a terrifying thought. 

Aizawa: Have the students been moved?

Nezu: Yes. We've moved the students to the Sports Festival Stadium. All appropriate security measures have been set up. If Torchwick intends to take UA, he will not find the students. 

As the UA staff prepares for Roman's impending arrival, he leads his army closer and closer to UA. Any Pro Hero who stood in their way were overrun. 

Roman: Excellent job, boys! Let's not tarry! We have business at UA to attend to. 

Roman's army begin tearing through the Pro Heroes that came into contact with them. Soon enough, Roman was confronted by Hawks. 

Hawks: All right, Torchwick. Your march stops here. 

Roman: Hawks! The Number #2 Hero! The Winged Hero! I was expecting the new Symbol of Peace! 

Hawks: Sorry to disappoint you. Looks like you'll have to make due with me. But don't feel too bad. I brought a couple of friends. 

As Hawks says this, he is joined by Mirko, Mountain Lady, Kamui Woods, Death Arms and several other Pro Heroes. 

Roman: A welcoming committee just for me? I do feel truly honored!

Death Arms: Surrender, Torchwick. You've lost. 

Roman: Lost? But my friend, we've only just begun! My boys here have been itching for a good bit of chaos! They have much to celebrate! A new era is upon us! 

Mirko: Your delusions of grandeur don't exactly line up with reality. 

Roman: I wouldn't say so, my Rabbit friend. For you see, I possess the ultimate equalizer! Now a mere Quirkless man can stand on the same ground as you Titans!

With that, the Pro Heroes began going for Roman, but his army begins attacking them. With the Pro Heroes kept occupied, Roman saw an opportunity. 

Roman: Neo, let's keep moving to UA. We wouldn't want to be late for our get together. 

Neo nods her head with a smile on her face. Roman then turns to Adam and whistles to him. Upon hearing the signal, Adam turns to his men and gestures them to move. While the Pro Heroes were distracted, Adam and the White Fang follow Roman and Neo towards UA. 

Roman: That should keep those meddlesome Pros on the line. 

Adam: What's your plan, Torchwick?

Roman: We take UA. Simple as that. It will be perfect staging ground for the rest of the invasion. I'm sure you'll have your chance to kill as many Pro Heroes as you deem fit. 

Adam says nothing as he continues to follow Adam's lead. Roman then communicates with Neo.

Roman: This invasion is off to a splendid start! 

Neo: The Pros certainly have their hands full, Roman. 

Roman: The Pros will put up a decent fight. But they can only hold the line for so long, especially with our equalizer. But let us focus on taking UA. We have a lot of ground to cover. 

With that, Roman's invasion has gripped all of Hero Society in chaos and fear. Roman's army was unchecked as the Pro Heroes mount a defensive in an attempt to drive the Villains from the city. UA itself was at the mercy of Roman Torchwick's assault. This invasion was only the beginning of a much grander scheme for Roman. And in Roman's mind, the endgame was near and a new era would fall. Roman smiled at the events to come. But things would soon become complicated for the master criminal.
