I immediately start looking around the dark blank space, looking for whoever had called me 'host' (whatever that meant...). The very same voice rang out again
[I am a life SYSTEM, and you are the lucky one that I was bonded to!]
'Lucky-? What is a 'life SYSTEM'? And what does it mean by bonded?' These questions flared through my mind, as well as others as I tried to grasp the situation at hand
[Yes, after your unfortunate death, you just happened to be chosen for new life. Or as you humans call it 'Reincarnation']
"WAIT THAT ACTUALLY EXISTS-" I yelled out without thinking 'Of course it is! Why am I so dumb...'
[Yes indeed, Human! Now before this process begins, is there any custom changes you would like?]
'Custom changes? To What?' I thought as I tried to piece together what this meant, as well as slowly pinching myself to make sure this wasn't some sort of sick dream my brain cooked up. As if reading my thoughts the SYSTEM answered back
[To answer your question, would you prefer a more leaning toward yours?]
On the last bit their voice notably changes to that of a woman, it felt uncomfortable to hear them speak as such when they sounded more male before. I found myself shaking my head before I even realized it.
[Very well Host, anything else you would like?]
"Uh...just call me Serena, it's weird when you call me 'Host'." I spoke to the seemingly to the endless black void, however they heard me
[Excellent! We can start now, I recommend you close your eyes]
"Why would I need to close my-" all of a sudden a blinding flash of light appeared, fogging my vision, paired with a sicking feeling spreading throughout my body....

Yes I know this wasn't that long, but I promise I'll do longer chapters as we progress into the story. Also, the SYSTEM has no set male voice, I left it up to you all so you can put what you think they sound like. I will also refer to the SYSTEM as they/them, hope you satisfied with the chapter outcome
