LEVI'S POV

Training was finally over. I took a shower before I went to the mess hall. I didn't see Misaki. I guess she eats somewhere else. I sat down at a table with Isabel and Furlan. We talked about training since we were split up. I was eating a loaf of bread until someone covered my eyes. I was about to elbow them until I heard a soft voice.

"Guess who?"
I rolled my eyes. I knew exactly who it was but I decided to play her game.
"Isabel?"
"Nope."
"Bushy?"
"That's an insult to me!"
"Furlan?"
"No silly! It's me: Misaki!"
"I know."

She grabbed some food and sat down next to me. I wanted to ask her about the conversation she was having with her brother, but I didn't know how to bring it up. People were leaving the dining hall, including Isabel and Furlan, leaving Misaki and I all by ourselves.

"I know you want to ask. You saw me staring at you."
I looked over at her, but she was already looking at me with her blue eyes.
"Ya."
"So ask?"
"Are you okay?"

MISAKI'S POV

I was taken back. I would have thought he was going to ask what the conversation was about, but he asked how I was.

"I'm okay. There was a meeting about the expedition and I told them that I wanted to go since I can heal people. Unc- I mean Commander Shadis, Erwin, and my brother said no. The conversation, between my brother and I, was about why I couldn't go. Honestly, I just don't want you to get hurt. I need you in my life."
I could tell Levi was thinking about what to say.

"I need you too, but don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I'll protect your brother too!"
I smiled and looked at him. He's very handsome. I knew I was staring at his lips. I think he caught on because we were both leaning in, until I saw my brother in a panic. I got up and looked at him.

"Tomohiro, what's wrong?"
"It's dad! He had a heart attack and passed away!"
"What! How do you know?"
"A messenger told me and I can feel the power shifting to me. I'm getting stronger."
"That means..."
"Misaki, you are now the Queen of the Walls."
"I'm only 18! I can't command. I don't know how!"
"There's people to help you. Your coronation day is tomorrow."
"But your expedition is tomorrow too. Why is the coronation so soon?"
"All three branches need to be there. It has to be before the expedition. We need someone on the throne."
"Okay."
"The carriage is here to take you back home."
"Okay."

I turned around to look for Levi, but he wasn't there.
"He left Misaki."

I say thank you and I walk to the front of HQ. Queen. I'm Queen. I'm going to be Queen. I'm all alone. My mom isn't here. My dad isn't here.

Ow, I ran into something hard. Why do I keep running into columns? I look up and see Levi.

"Your majesty."
"Stop it! If you do that again, I'm going to punch you."
He smiled. He has a beautiful smile. I think this is the first time I've ever seen him smile.
"Alright alright. You win."
He's the best thing in my life right now except for my family. I can't lose him.

"Levi, don't go on this expedition. I can tell them that you aren't ready."
"Why? I am ready."
"I can't lose you Levi. You mean the world to me."

I watch him reach into his jacket and pull out a box.
"Levi..."
"I'm not proposing silly. This is just a ring to remember me by just in case."

He opened the box and there it was, the ring I was looking at when we were in town.

He put it on my right ring finger and I gave him the biggest hug

He put it on my right ring finger and I gave him the biggest hug.
"Thank you so much Levi!"
I grabbed his hand and took him to the courtyard. We sat on the bench and I laid my head on his shoulder.

"Levi?"
"Yes?"
"I'll see you after your expedition?"
"Yes."
"Promise?"
"I promise."

I picked up my head and looked at him. I cupped his head in my hand and leaned in. He closed the gap. His lips were so soft. Everything fell into place: he's my everything. I kissed him one more time before we both went our separate ways.

I was in the carriage, on my way back to the castle. I'll see Levi one more time before he goes. I can say bye to Isabel and Furlan too. By the time I got home, I was exhausted and went right to bed.
