Jenny May-Hill is a features writer at the local paper. Her husband Alex runs the coffee shop, best friend Pip uses his bookstore to curate his literary obsession while his partner Jamie runs the Records Office at the local council. Having grown up together, they still all work and live in Boroughford-Upon-Tweed, the tiny fishing village that supplies the biggest restaurants with their finest catches. Their setting is idyllic and free from tourists, which suits everyone done to the ground. That is until ruthless and charming Land Developer Simian Sweeney breezes into the village and announces his intention to buy up vacant plots of land and turn them into vulgar five star resorts not only destroying the village's reputation but also the legacy of Jenny's grandmother Clemency.
