Chapter twenty nine (Epilogue)

Max looked at his brother's reflection in the mirror and raised an eyebrow "A bit late to ask me to be best man isn't it?" Adrain rolled his eyes and shrugged on a shirt "Is that a no?" Max shook his head and finished the knot for his tie "It's a yes, of course it's a yes" he grinned and Adrain grinned back, Max has never seen his brother this nervous before, Ruby walked in with her hand over her eyes "Max, Evie wants you" she took her hand off her eyes to wink at Oscar before leaving, Max caught his brothers eye and smirked "Duty calls" Jade punched Max lightly in the arm "Make sure she doesn't eat your pretty face" Max shook his head and smirked "Very funny Jade" he closed the door behind him and walked across the hall to his dad's bedroom where Nova was getting ready, he knocked on the door and heard Nova shout come in, he opened the door and Nova stood in front of a mirror smiling awkwardly, she was in a beautiful wedding dress with a skirt that fanned out from her waist, it was decorated with white lace flowers and near the end of the dress the white fabric bled into black, Nova did jazz hands "Ta daaa" Max grinned at her and shut the door behind him "You look stunning, Adrian's socks are going to be knocked right off" Nova blushed and let Ruby continue on fussing with her hair "So uh, Rubs said that Evie wanted me?" Nova smirked at him in the mirror "She went downstairs" he nodded and left the room, Nova and Adrain decided to have the wedding in the Manor House, it was certainly big enough, Max admired the decor on the staircase and the walls as he made his way to where the main service was going to take place, he spotted Evie in the dining room where the table had been cleared out and the chandleries cleaned, he must admit, for a two days warning, the team did a good job. Evie spotted him and she turned around and Max's eye widened, she looked beautiful, she was dressed in a black floor-length gown that was slim and hugged her body, it was off the shoulders and half of her hair was braided and half was down, it may of been just him but she seemed to sparkle "You look... wow" she blushed and reached him "You should see the other bridesmaids, we're all wearing black dresses you see but their not the same they're-" Max cut her off by taking her hand and kissing it "I don't care about the other bridesmaids" he whispered and she smiled, he pulled her towards him by her waist and she put her arms around his neck "I can't wait until this is us" He whispered and she looked at him, his heart skipped a beat and he thought he had gone to far, but instead she smiled and pecked him on the lips "Me neither".
After the service everyone milled around the house, talking and sipping champagne, Max sat with his brother and his now wife and he sipped the only glass of champagne he was allowed to drink, he turned towards Nova "So now I guess you're now my sister in-law" Nova nodded and she smiled slightly "I hope that's okay" Max shrugged and he leaned against a counter "I already considered you a sister so it's fine by me" Nova smiled and kissed him on the cheek, Max spotted Evie talking to Sterling and he excused himself and walked over to them, Sterling noticed the glass he was holding and sighed "So you're allowed to drink and I'm not? So unfair" Max smirked and he put his arms against Evie's waist "Perks of being the groom's brother" Sterling groaned and he went to go see if he could convince Ruby to let him have a glass and Max turned towards Evie, she leant against the wall and smiled up at him "Is it silly that I believe that everything's going to be okay and nothing is going to go wrong?" She asked and Max took her hand in his own and he glanced around at his friends and family, all smiling and getting along. And in that moment, he truly believed that everything was going to be okay. So he turned towards Evie and said "It's not silly, I promise" she smiled and pulled him towards her and kissed him. And in that moment, Max truly believed, that everything was going to be okay.
