Bandit (Max x Evie - What happened after Supernova)

Chapter three ~ Evie

Magpie made her way down to the training centre, having informing Prism of her whereabouts so the prodigy knew why she wasn't attending her cleanup duties, her heart thundered inside her chest as she made her way down the stairs, she could see Sketches' team all readying themselves for a fight, the Red Assassin, or Ruby and her brothers, twins,  Jade and Sterling, sitting on a bench and excitedly discussing what might happen on their first mission, and then she spotted Nova, the girl glared she her with icy blue eyes "What is she doing here" she directed her question at Adrian that had just walked in with Max who sat next to Jade and Sterling on the bench, Adrian walked over to his girlfriend and put his hands on her arms "We need all the extra help we can get" Nova's eyes softened and they both glanced at Max who was joking around with Jade and Sterling, looking like a normal teenager just laughing with his friends. Danna, or Monarch, walked into the middle of the group and flipped her blonde dreadlocks "Okay lets get started, Oscar, you do the honours" Oscar Silva, or Smokescreen dissipated black smoke from his hands, descending the room into darkness, all except for a display on the wall dramatic much Magpie thought and she joined the group in front of the screen, on it was a names of all the active criminals in Gatlon "Our job is to find out which of these criminals are the Malefactor" Magpie frowned "What if it's a group of people" Danna glared at her "I was getting to that" she cleared her throat and continued on, Magpie spotted Max smiling at her and she smiled back, before turning back to Danna "So the Malefactor, or Malefactors" she glared at Magpie  "Have committed several federal crimes, but they've never been caught. They've also shown a special intrest in... one of our Renegades" she quickly looked at Max before turning back to the screen "We don't know why, or if they are as powerful as the Anarchists" Magpie noticed Nova shuffle uncomfortably on her feet, she smirked and looked back at Danna "But it is always best to proceed with caution, today we are going to do some basic training as some of us are not as young as we once were" she shared a smile with Oscar "And tomorrow we will do an all-day all-night patrol on one of the suspected places where the Malefactor, or Malefactors will be hiding. So get to it!" She clapped her hands and Oscar absorbed the smoke back into his hands, Magpie blinked at the sudden change in light and waited for her eyes to adjust, once they had, she walked over to the gun range, picking up a gun before watching what everyone else was doing, Max and Adrian sparred on blue matts, their hands bandaged for protection, Danna and Ruby were throwing knives and axes at straw dummies, hitting the target every single time, she watched Oscar disarm a fake bomb before her eyes met Nova's, she met the girl's glare with one of her own, before she took her eyes off and lifted the gun, willing the metal to do what she wanted, she aimed and fired, closing her eyes as the back-lash from the fire hit her, she opened one eye and saw that she had hit the bullseye, she looked at Nova who nodded, impressed, before turning to her own station, typing things into a keypad. Magpie fired a few more shots until she realised that everyone was watching Adrain and Nova spar, she walked over and stood next to Max, who had unzipped the top of his body-suit, beads of sweat visible on his bare chest, he looked at her and grinned "Nice shots" he pointed his head towards the gun range that Magpie had just left, "Oh, thanks" she met Max's smile and looked over at Adrian and Nova, as much as she hated the girl, Magpie had to admit that she had some skill, she was completely obliterating Adrian, finally Adrian stayed down for longer than ten seconds and Ruby clapped "Okay who wants to go next" Max raised a hand and stepped onto the mat, Sterling started to walk up before Max shook his head "I wanna fight Magpie" everyone turned and looked at her, Maggie's eyes widened and she looked at Max, he must be batshit crazy "Me?" Her voice cracked awkwardly and she cleared her throat "Yeah, you" Max smirked and ran a hand through his curly blond hair "Unless you're too chicken" he smirked and Sterling and Jade whistled, Magpie stood up a bit taller and glanced at Nova who gave her a slight nod, she walked onto the mat "Of course I'm not too chicken, are you?" Jade and Sterling laughed and Max smirked "Nope" he popped the p and lunged for her, Magpie dodged and grabbed his wrist, Max cursed and he sweeped a hand at her leg, causing her to fall on her back, knocking the breath out of her, she jumped back up and put her fists up in front of her, lunging towards Max, he dodged last minute and grabbed her by her hair "OW" she screamed and punched him in the jaw, he exclaimed in pain and let go of her hair, stepping off the mat with a hand on his jaw "You punched me!!" He looked furious, he waved Adrian off, Magpie scoffed and she crossed her arms "And you cheated" she glared at him. He glared back before groaning in frustration and storming off, Adrian, Sterling and Jane close behind him. Magpie rolled her eyes and massaged her head boys she thought and stepped off the mat, not making eye contact with anyone before she walked away, clenching her bruised fist, on her way to find some ice.
