"texting again i see, when will you ever get off that phone?"

loey suddenly yelled when her phone was snatched out of her grasp. she turned over to look at her guy best friend who stood there with a smirk as he dangled her precious phone in the air. one that she would be too short to reach.

"give me back my phone," she rolled her eyes. "not until you show me the attention i deserve." he said with a cheeky smile while running his other hand through his blonde hair.

her lips pursed before she pointed at the girl walking behind them. "you have jackie to give you attention jay."

jay raised an eyebrow and they both turned around to eye the girl who looked up from her phone. "don't bring me into this loey."

jay laughed as he grabbed her hand and pulled her closer so he could wrap his arms around both loey and jackie's shoulder.

ah the american trio.

loey was from florida, jackie was from california, and jay was from washington.

loey and jackie were both foreign exchange students while jay had been living in korea since he moved when he was nine. loey and jackie were pretty awkward around each other at first until one day they decided to go eat at a restaurant to get to know each other better.

there they ran into jay into a not-so-pleasant manner.

loey bumped into jay while she was fangirling about a kpop group called cix, and the fruit punch she had in her hand accidental spilled on his white shirt and white jean jacket.

yeah he wasn't really happy about it.

they met again at a convenience store around 12 am where she apologized again and offered to pay for his snacks. after that the two exchanged numbers and then began the infamous friendship between loey and jay. she introduced him to jackie a little while after and they started to become friends too.

now they were an inseparable trio who went everywhere together. jay often slept over at their dorm too; he practically lived there by now.

as loey had texted the guys before, jay was nagging the two to go to the store to buy snacks before lunch ended so that's where they were at the moment.

"i'm broke right now, jay buy me something," loey begged as she slid her phone into her hoodie. he scoffed. "no."

"don't be salty."

jackie sighed. "you two can't go a damn second without fighting can you."

jay who was reaching over to to pull a strand of loey's hair stopped in midair begore slightly chuckling. "psh i don't know what you mean."

"please help a broke girl out."

jay flicked her forehead to which she whined in return. "jay you're supposed to help the broke girl, not hurt her," loey mumbled as she rubbed her forehead with her hand. the two continued bickering as jackie was already buying a drink.

it wasn't until they heard the sound of a drink opening and fizzling after that they looked over to see jackie standing there with a blank expression, and she sipped her drink.

"hurry up lunch is gonna end soon~"

loey turned back to jay as she started to pout. he cringed as he moved her face away with his hand. "don't do that, you look ugly."

"okay? you are ugly."

jay scoffed. "honey don't disrespect all of this," he paused to gesture his body. "like that."

after more whining he gave in and bought loey a bag of chips as he got one too. the two paid and headed back towards their classroom as her phone kept blowing up from her hoodie.

"how many people do you even text?"

"11 guys."

both jackie and jay looked at her surprised to which she shrugged. "they're pretty chill. they make me laugh sometimes. they never sleep though, like our main time of texting is 3 am."

they both didn't say a word as she continued. "they're cute too. some of them are adorable. oh and i have a simp."

"don't you have like 50 already?"

loey slapped jay in the arm and he glared in return. she took a chip out of her bag and threw it in her mouth. "he's cute, he's not bright though. his name is juyeon and he's so astronomically dumb it's insane."

jay lowered his head to reach her level. "did you say cute?" he looked back at jackie. "did the gay girl just call a guy cute?"

she rolled her eyes. "shut up you know what i mean. he's attractive. i call you cute all the time too."

"yeah and it's annoying. you guys should get a room." now it was jackie's turn to get slapped in the arm.

loey sighed. "all i mean is he's funny and stupid at the same time. he also manages to be pretty as hell which is weird. but of course i'm prettier." she pretended to flip her long hair despite having hair that was pretty much the same length as jay's.

"if i see you with a boyfriend one day i'm dipping."

"shut up."

another boy at the end of the hallway sighed as he shut his locker. another day eating alone, another boring 45 minutes to pass alone, another day waiting for someone to talk to him without being intimidated.

he started to head to his class with a straight face until he bumped into someone who was on their phone.

"sorry bro." the other dude said as he continued walking, not even taking a glance at the person he bumped into.

he sighed again until his eyes landed on someone at the end of the hallway.

"wait is that—"

"juyeon?"
