"Help me, Anakin Skywalker, you're my only hope."

The young and beautiful girl dressed in white played on the hologram coming from the astromech. Luke was shocked from how beautiful she was. He hasn't seen any beautiful girls on Tatooine, much rather anywhere, except for his Aunt Beru who he loved dearly.

"Whats this?" He asked, slowly getting up from the ground after falling backwards trying to clean R2D2's part that was jammed. R2 beeped in confusion, but C3PO spoke to respect his new Master, "'What is what?' He asked you a question. What is that?"

"Help me Anakin Skywalker, you're my only hope." The transmission played over and over, and Luke couldn't get enough of it. His mind wandered from her appearance, her need for help, then to a man. R2 beeped and C3PO translated, "Oh. He says is nothing, sir. Merely a malfunction. Old data, pay no mind to it."

"Who is she? She's beautiful." Luke questioned. "I'm afraid I'm not quite sure, sir. I think she was a passenger on our last voyage. A person of some importance I believe. Our captain was-" 3PO answered. "Is there any more to this recording?" R2 whistled and C3PO replied to the droid, "Behave yourself, R2. You're going to get us into trouble. It's all right, you can trust him. He's our new master."

"You're my only hope."

R2 beeped and 3PO translated, "He says he is the property of Anakin Skywalker, a resident of these parts, and it's a private message for him." Luke tore his eyes away from the girl to the droids. "Quite frankly sir, I don't know what he's talking about. Our last master was Captain Antilles, but with all we've been through, R2 has become a bit eccentric." 3PO finished.

"Anakin Skywalker.. I think he means Anakin?"

"I beg your pardon, sir, but do you know what he's talking about?" 3PO questioned. "Well, I don't know anybody with the last name of Skywalker except me, but Anakin lives out beyond the Dune Sea. I haven't seen him in a long time, he's kind of a hermit." Luke moved to the table against the sandstone wall and wiped his hands off. He kept his eyes on the girl who kept replaying, "I wonder who she is. Sounds like she's in trouble. I better play back the whole thing."

R2 beeped louder and more urgently, making Luke stop from touching him. "He says the restraining bolt has short circuited in his recording system. He suggests that if you remove the bolt, he might be able to play back the entire recording." 3PO told the distracted boy.

"Oh, yeah. Well.." He looked around after diverting his eyes from her, "I guess you're too small to run away from me if I take this off." He grabbed a small cloth from the table and bent over, removing the bolt. "There you go." The message stopped playing and disappeared.

"Wait, where did she go? Bring her back." Luke ordered. R2 beeped and 3PO said, "'What message?'" He hit the astromech, "The one you were just playing."

"Luke! Luke!" Aunt Beru yelled from the dining room, indicating that it was time for dinner. "I'll be right there!" Luke responded. "I'm sorry, sir, but he appeared to have picked up a slight flutter." Luke put a tool and cloth in 3PO's hand, "Here. See what you can do with him. I'll be right back."

Leaving the two droids, 3PO turned to R2, "Just you reconsider playing that message for him." R2 beeped, asking a question. C3PO answered, "No, I don't think he likes you at all." A sad bleep came from R2.

As Luke walked into the small dining room, he sat in between his aunt and uncle, who sat on the opposite ends of the table, "You know, I think that R2 unit we bought might have been stolen." Owen questioned, "What makes you think that?" Luke put food on his plate and explained, "He says he belongs to someone called Anakin Skywalker. I'm pretty sure he might have meant Anakin, unless it's a family member of his or some sort. Do you know anything that he's talking about?"

Luke's uncle groaned a 'no' as he ate, but he knew what he was talking about. He knew Anakin, but he didn't want Luke to. Anakin would stop by the house when Luke was younger and help out, but stopped as Luke grew up. Owen didn't want Luke to go down the same path as his father and stay safe, not to end up like his mother.

"I wonder if it's a family member of his. Maybe his father?" Luke questioned. "He's just a crazy hermit. Tomorrow I want you to take that R2 unit to town and have its memory wiped. It belongs to us now." Owen told the boy who ate his food.

"But what if this Anakin Skywalker comes looking for him?" Luke took a sip of juice. "He won't. I don't think he lives around here anymore. I don't even know if he's alive." Owen said. "I wonder if he new my mother."

"I told you to forget it. In the morning I want them up on the south ridge working on the condensers." Owen voiced sternly. "Yes, sir." Luke paused, "Also, I was thinking about our agreement, me staying on another season. And if these droids do work out, I want to give my application to the academy this year."

"You mean the next semester before the harvest?" Owen asked. "Sure. There's more than enough droids." Luke said. "Harvest is when I need you the most. It's only another season, you can submit your application after this season."

"Yeah thats what you said when Biggs left." Luke stood up from his chair. "Where are you going?" Beru asked. "Apparently nowhere. I'm going to finish cleaning those droids." Luke answered, leaving the room.

Once Luke left, Beru started, "He can't stay here forever, Owen. He's not a farmer, he wants something more. He has too much of his mother and father in him." Owen sighed, "That's what I'm afraid of."

Going up the stairs, Luke heard his aunt and uncle speak to each other, but he paid no attention to it. Instead, he walked outside and went towards the small sand dune outside of his underground home. Standing on the dune, he propped his arm on his leg, watching the two suns set.

Luke would watch the suns set frequently as he grew up. It calmed him, allowed him to dream of a life bigger than what he was living right now. Ever since he heard stories about the Jedi and the old war, he wanted to do something more. He never wanted to be a farmer, no matter how much his uncle needed him. He wanted to be like his unknown mother and father, who were Jedi. He knew that much, but not their names or where they were. When Luke heard the name, 'Anakin Skywalker,' he had faith that he was his father, but he knew it probably wasn't true. All he just wanted to have was hope.
