Ana

With Tempus gone, we still had questions about the baby. Christian examined him and checked his vitals. Mom used a spell to determine the supernatural aspect of the baby. We wanted to know if Silas would accelerate in growth.

Plus, mom showed me how to nurse the baby since I didn't have a clue. We tried a bottle, but Silas wouldn't take one. She also showed me the basics of caring for an infant.

Erik held Silas as Christian, and my mom discussed their findings.

"Well," I asked.

"After all tests, the baby seems normal. We didn't find any trace of the Dreamweaver essence in his system," Christian said.

"What about the pregnancy?" Erik asked, rocking the baby.

"The Dreamweaver essence seemed to disappear when Tempus did. It was what made the pregnancy progress as rapid as it did," Christian explained.

"Now that we know the baby seems normal. What about baby items?" I asked.

"That's why you have me," Dante announced, carrying in baby items. We watched as he brought everything into the house with super speed. The living room became a storage unit for baby items.

I walked over as Dante brought in the remaining piece. "Where did you get all this stuff?" I asked.

"Well, people weren't using the items," Dante answered.

"You stole from people?" I asked as my face contorted into shock.

"I would say borrowed," Dante said, raising a finger.

I gave Dante a look.

"The people weren't using the items, and I asked them for the things," Dante said, rolling his eyes.

"So you used your vampirism on people," I replied.

"It does come in handy," Dante said.

I shook my head and walked over to the baby. I took Silas from Erik and cradled him.

"Since Ana gave birth, she needs to work on her powers," Christian mentioned.

"What about graduation?" I asked.

"Everyone will graduate but not with the formality of a ceremony. We can't risk humans knowing what we are," Christian advised.

I sighed because my life changed drastically since I met Erik. Plus, my eighteenth birthday was approaching.

"Since you can't have a normal teenage angst, then have a supernatural one," Dante said, interrupting us.

"What?" I asked, looking at Dante.

"You have witches, werewolves, and a hunter who will miss out on the perks of high school. Celebrate prom and graduation here. I'll rouse up supernatural beings to help." Dante smiled.

"What is your angle, bloodsucker?" Erik asked.

"I know what it's like to lose everything and live hundreds of years of missing out on life," Dante answered.

I thought back to what Dante told me about getting cursed. Dante had a wife and life before a witch cursed him. Silas stirred and cried. I tried to calm him, but it wasn't working. Dante reached over and took Silas from me. Erik tensed until we saw Dante hold Silas, and Silas calmed down.

"Is someone fussy? Oh, yes, you are," Dante said in a baby voice while making faces at Silas.

Erik looked at his dad, who observed the interaction between Dante and Silas.
