Silas
After spending time in the other realm, I returned to Trish's house. But I kept my distance from Dante when he tried to approach me. I didn't want to get more attached to him than I already was. Not if he would turn human and die.
"Silas," Dante said.
I ignored Dante. "I search for the dagger and return Abigail to Hades before killing Cain. Then I will work on turning Dante into a human."
"What?" Grandpa asked.
"It's what Dante wants. So, I'll give him his wish."
"Do you understand what you're saying? If you make Dante human, it will kill you and Rory."
"It doesn't matter. Dante hates his life as a vampire. I don't want my mate miserable. Can we leave now?"
"Yes." Grandpa nodded in resignation.
I left the house, climbed into the car, and waited for everyone else to get in. Once everyone was inside, Grandpa started the car and drove home. I stared out the window at the passing scenery, knowing I was ending my life to give Dante what he wanted.
"Silas," Dante said.
I closed my eyes and blocked Dante from me. It was better than knowing I didn't mean shit to him.
Rejection is a bitch. You fall so deep that it cuts you in half when it pierces your heart. I didn't care anymore if I lived or died. What was the point? I was already dead after hearing the truth.
Grandpa pulled up to the house. I didn't bother to wait and headed inside. I rushed past everyone while ignoring their calls and locked myself in my bedroom after putting a spell on it to keep people out, including my mates.

ErikSilas rushed past us, ignoring us when we called him. Dad entered with Dante and Rory.
"What happened?" I asked, not wanting to hear about their trip. I wanted to know what was wrong with my boy.
"Silas discovered he can break Dante's curse and turn him human. If that happens, Dante will die along with Rory and Silas," my dad said.
My anger erupted as I pinned Dante against the wall by his neck. I tightened my grasp around his neck and leaned into him as my eyes turned black. "Give me one good reason not to kill you now."
"Because if I die, Silas dies," Dante gasped.
"You already signed his death warrant when you decided to be human." I looked at Ana. "Can you remove the mate mark from Silas?"
Ana shook her head. "I don't have that type of power. Only a guardian can."
"Then get me a damn guardian. I refuse to have a bloodsucker kill our boy." My teeth elongated, wanting to rip out this bloodsucker's throat.
"We don't know if it will work. But I know what will."
A low growl ripped from my throat.
"I can tell Silas how I rejected his daddy when he was being an ass." Ana smirked.
I dropped Dante and whirled on Ana. "Don't test me, Ana."
"Then stop acting like a jackass and let me handle it." Ana marched to the steps and stomped upstairs while throwing her hands in the air. "Always got to be a macho alpha. More like a macho asshole."
I closed my eyes and raked my hand down my face. Ana was so getting it tonight.
