Silas stood in the yard as I had different family members help with his testing. First was Erik.

I didn't tell Silas what to expect. I needed to see how advanced his abilities had become.

Erik flew through the air in wolf form and charged at Ana. Silas didn't hesitate and shifted, taking a protective stance in front of Ana. Erik halted in his tracks when Silas protected Ana.

For the son of a King Alpha to defy the king was unheard of in our world.

I gave Erik a nod, and he retreated. Next was Alex and Kira. As witches of the Gemini coven, their thought processes aligned. They were powerful together.

Alex and Kira used their powers to attack Ana. Silas lunged forward to stop the attack, then pulled his arms back and threw them on. Alex and Kira flew through the air and landed on their back.

"Why did we agree to this?" Alex coughed and waved her hand in front of her face.

"We're gluttons for punishment?" Kira asked.

Brady followed and whipped a knife at Ana. Silas grabbed her and vanished, surprising everyone.

Silas

My mom and I appeared in the same room I found myself before returning to her and my dad. We looked around as different movies played. People's
memories appeared, as did people who had passed before us.

My mom walked around and looked at the different videos. "I know where we are."

"Where?" I turned slowly as movies played and the stars lit up the darkened sky.

"It's the Dreamweaver world. This is where Dreamweavers control people's dreams."

"Why are we here?"

"Because it's your safe place," a voice echoed.

My mom and I glanced at each other.

A woman with dark hair and a white dress appeared. She walked toward us. "This world won't harm you but keep you safe."

"I don't understand," I said, shaking my head.

"You're a tribrid. You have a wolf, witch, and Dreamweaver abilities. It makes you the most powerful being in the supernatural world."

"A witch performed a ritual to protect Silas," my mom said.

"A Tempus witch named Abigail." The woman nodded.

"Yeah."

"When Abigail mixed the blood of two supernatural creatures containing Dreamweaver essence, she opened a portal and linked them. The ritual brought them here to protect them from harm."

"But Silas was a baby when it happened. He returned older along with us."

"Time stops in the Dreamweaver world. His wolf altered time because of his cellular makeup. When Silas returned, time sped up. He was never to enter this world until later. Abigail performed a spell that altered everything."

"So, how do we reverse it?"

"You can't."

"But years have passed. I don't have any memories." My mom shook her head in disbelief.

"You have memories, but they're like dreams." The woman turned to a screen and flicked her wrist. "Your memories exist even if you don't remember them. As a Dreamweaver, it's our duty to protect your dreams. We step in when an entity threatens you through sleep."

While my mom talked to the woman, I walked toward a screen. It flashed a series of events in my life. I existed, but not in your typical way. Then a face flashed across the screen.

The face captivated me with their porcelain skin and pink lips. The black hair was a bit longer than I remember. I couldn't tell if the person was male or female since they had both masculine and feminine features.

"Are you ready to go?" My mom's voice broke me from my trance.

I turned my head to her. "Yeah."

Within seconds, I stood in an open field and gazed around me. My ears perked to grass rustling and leaves moving in the breeze. The glow of the sun setting in the distance illuminated the purple and orange of the evening sky. The air held a warm scent to it. All my senses had heightened to a nano degree.

Then the hair pricked on the back of my neck. Without hesitation, I flew into the air and shifted into wolf form. The ground rumbled from my landing.

"Silas." My dad's deep voice radiated through the air. His silhouette appeared closer with each step. Once my dad reached me, I shifted fully clothed. "It will take some time to get used to you shifting fully clothed. I don't have that luxury when I shift."

"I don't even know how I do it. It's like it's part of me."

"What do you mean?"

"When I shift, I think, and it happens. It's like my senses are heightened to my surroundings."

"Wolves have extremely heightened senses because of our molecular makeup. Your grandfather had to train us to control our wolf behavior if we lived amongst humans."

"Did you always live amongst humans?"

"Not at first. We lived in a village in Florida away from humans. We didn't have to hide from people and could run free. Then rogue wolves attacked and killed your grandmother."

I could hear the pain in my dad's voice. And I felt it in my heart.

"Your grandfather packed us up and left Florida, hoping to start anew. He also abandoned his pack as an alpha."

"Why would Grandfather step down as Alpha?"

"He couldn't rule a pack after his Luna died. So, he bestowed the leadership to me and made me alpha."

"But you hate Dante."

My dad nodded his head. "Dante is a vampire. They're our mortal enemies."

"Dante's my friend."

"Silas."

I turned to my dad and narrowed my eyes to a slit. "Don't make me choose." With those words, I walked away.

To challenge an alpha broke a wolf law. But I wasn't your ordinary wolf since I had witch and Dreamweaver in my DNA makeup.

I walked toward the house with my fists clenched when I felt a tug. Something was pulling me to it. My senses heightened as I veered course. The scent was overwhelming until my feet stopped in front of Dante and my mother.

My eyes flickered to an onyx color. My mom and Dante turned their gaze to me. Without thinking and going on instinct, I pressed my body against Dante's as my hand fisted into his hair. I tugged his head to the side and ran my nose along his neck.

Dante's scent engulfed me as I slid the tip of my tongue along his skin.

"Silas? What are you doing?" Dante's voice rang through my ears.

My body jolted with electricity as I buried my nose into my skin. Once my father approached, a growl slipped past my lips as I muttered a word no one expected.

"Mate."
