Taehyung

A tired sigh left your lips as you took off your blazer, gear and unbuttoned your uniform's shirt, neatly placing them into the locker before pulling on a black t-shirt with the department's initials "FMP officer" neatly embroidered into the fabric, serving as another type of a uniform, despite these clothes merely being the ones you train in.

* FMP = Foul Magic Prevention

Once you finished changing shirt, you closed your locker before beginning to make your way towards the headquarters training hall, hoping to get some swift strength training in at the very end of your shift before clocking out— a habit that you and Jungkook had formed whilst working together, which you diligently had stuck to till this day, as it proved to be very effective during combat and for overall safety patrolling around the city

The only difference being, it's been a good while now that you've had to train alone, as it had been just over 5 months since the last time you saw– or even heard from Jungkook.

After some extremely important leads on a powerful gang that your department had been trying to track for a while now were discovered, the younger was amongst the few FMP officers going undercover on this dangerous mission, hoping to get into their internal circle to capture them once and for all.

This undercover mission had meant that Jungkook would have to go completely off the radar, and could under no circumstances contact you, or anyone for that matter until the mission was over— which who knows how long that might be.

You were of course no stranger to this protocol, as you yourself had also gone through such missions in the past, however, you just couldn't help but feel a strong sense of worry haunt you day by day, gut twisting anxiously from the uncertainty of the outcome of this mission

Not to mention, this case was incredibly similar to the very case Jungkooks father never made it back home from.

There had even been some speculations regarding their gang's leader, as it turned out he potentially could be the very same leader for the other gang that was broken apart back then, and that only worked to fuel your worry

However, those speculations only made Jungkook all the more determined to go on that mission, you could still recall the words he had told you the night before he left, and how his usually glimmering and bright eyes turned to ones contained with a passionate fire seeking vengeance

– "Hyung this is possibly my only chance at finishing what my dad set out to do, it's my only chance to avenge his death without stooping as low as that despicable being''

And he was right, it was possibly the only chance to once and for all hold those criminals accountable for their actions, so who were you to come in his way of that?

Rather, despite your worries, you supported and truly admired your lover for bravely going out on that mission without any form of hesitation, it just went on to yet again prove how much the younger truly deserved his high ranking on the team

| A bit later...

After having wrapped up your strength training for the day, you headed out of the training hall and began making your way down the hallway to head back over to the locker rooms, only to swiftly halt in your tracks and take a few steps backward in surprise as your eyes happened to catch something- or someone, inside one of the simulation training rooms

More specifically your eyes caught none other than Jungkook whom currently was immersed in the training simulation inside that room, skillfully fighting through whatever the simulation had in store for him to test his reflexes and combat abilities
