Early the next morning, when two texts flew in at the same time, Stana realized Molly and Gigi were both on their way up at the same time. When she opened the door, Gigi and Molly were already shaking hands. "I see you've met now," Stana stated as she welcomed them in.
"I guess so," Molly commented.
Gigi walked in and almost immediately grabbed her sister in her arms. "Hey, there's my favorite sister."
With a bright grin, Stana replied, "I'm your only sister."
"Exactly," the other Katic said, releasing the shorter sister and letting her regain her balance. Gigi then lifted the bag of clothes a little higher and declared, "Show me the hunk and you get the junk."
"Oh my God! Gigi, hush! Nathan's asleep, and after the night he had, I think it's best we let him sleep," Stana said, the pain in her eyes not hidden from either of the women before her.
Molly was the first to question, more in care for Nathan, "What happened? Is he alright?"
Stana instantly jumped into, "Oh, yes, sweetheart, he's fine. He just got up for some reason last night and fell. He sliced open his hand a bit, but that's all. We just have to be sure he's taking those medications whether he wants to or not."
"That's it? You're sure he's fine?" Molly asked again.
"Yeah, Molly. That's it. He's fine," Stana lied. It was obvious to Gigi that Stana hadn't shared everything, but she pocketed the topic and released the bag to her sister. Once she had her clothes, Stana wandered into the other bedroom and then jumped in the shower.
While she soaked, Molly and Gigi were surprised to hear Nathan wake up, calling out, "Stana!" Gigi stayed behind as Molly traveled toward her secondary father's bedroom. Once in the door, Nathan questioned, "Where's Stana?"
"Showering," Molly stated. Nathan sighed. "What's wrong?"
He didn't say. "Could you grab me a glass of water?"
"Sure," Molly replied, turning to leave as Gigi entered.
Inside, it was obvious she was Stana's sister. The family resemblence was apparent. Aside from her height, Gigi could have been Stana's twin from before her surgery. With a smile on his face, legs hung over the side of his bed, he told her, "You must be the other Katic."
"Gigi," she smiled, holding out her hand for him as she bridged the gap between them. "And you must be the snog buddy."
He chuckled, taking her hand in his, "You can call me Nathan, or Nate, whichever suits you."
"Nathan," she affirmed. "You have a strong grasp for a man with an injured hand."
"Yeah, well, you have got to work through the pain, right? I mean, we're both from that hockey-loving, injury ingoring country up North."
Gigi smiled, "Greatest country in the world."
"Candyland country of the world," Nathan teased. She smiled and nodded. "So, you're whisking my nurse away in my time of need?"
"I think you're in highly capable hands," Gigi said, hearing Molly's footsteps behind her. As Molly came in and handed the man a glass of water, she looked between to two and took note of an odd sense between them. Nathan seemed tense and she seemed to be studying him as though he was an enemy she was trying to analyse.
When Stana stepped out, fully clothed, hair drying into its typical waves, she was shocked to see Nathan, Molly and her sister sitting in the front room with bright smiles on their faces, Molly attempting to get through another story of a michevious plot Nathan and Stana had carried out. This was the one and only story her sister had never heard: the story of Nathan and Stana walking out onto the set's bullpen as though they'd just had the hottest, most mind numbing sex of their lives.
Her cheeks immediately filled with color as her eyes became directed at the floor. When she was finally noticed, her eyes lifted from their place and she told them, "I barely remember that day, I was so tired."
"Oh, I remember that day," Nathan stated. "You were completely exhausted."
"And super fun," Molly added.
Gigi grinned, "Oh, you should have seen her around finals time in high school."
"No," Stana's eyes widened, "We are so not telling that story. High school is one experience that will stay in the past where it belongs."
"Oh, come on, those stories are the best," Gigi teased.
Stana put her hand on her hip and moved her other hand to her words. "Gee, I thought you came here to go out to lunch and spend time with me, not humiliate me in front of these two."
"Can't I do both?"
"I'm leaving, whether you're with me or not," Stana stated.
Her sister sighed, dramatically stating, "Well, children, I guess that's my cue to take my leave." As she rose, she shook Nathan's hand and told him, "I'll have your nurse back to you by this evening." He thanked her with a nod. Then, as she took Molly's hand and told her it was nice meeting her, Nathan looked over to Stana, winking at her playfully as she blushed and rolled her eyes. The pair then took their leave, and the moment they were on the streets, Gigi questioned, "So, are you going to tell me what's really happening with you and the snog buddy or am I going to have to pry it out of him?"
