Third person POV

The car pulled into the driveway of the mansion and out stepped the four people seated in it. There was a small level of awkwardness between them but no one spoke to break the silence or address the situation.

After unlocking the door, Enzo walked into the house, not waiting for either Javier or Lucía. Without a word to any man he saw,  Enzo retreated to his office; waiting for him was a group of men dressed in casual clothing except for one.

Antonio.

"Where's Jav-"

The doors blew open, a man almost falling to his knees as he struggled to catch his breath.

"Boss... five... gunmen... Lucía..."

All of the men in Enzo's study rose up and cocked their guns, exiting the room whilst doing so. Enzo walked out, scanning the room and rushing to find Lucía. There were many gunshots here and there, men were getting involved in hand to hand combat. it was chaos.

"ENZO!! ENZO!!" Lucía shouted.

Enzo spun on his heels to see her being carried out the door by a familiar face. Carlos Santos.

"Carlos Santos you hijo de puta!!" Lorenzo shouted.
[translation: son of a bitch]

Enzo sprinted down the hall, shoving men who were in his way and cocking his gun as he readied for his fight.

When they walked out the door he saw Carlos almost getting to his getaway car.

"Take one more step and I'll shoot both your kneecaps." Enzo said in a deathly calm way.

Chuckling as he turned around, Carlos held. knife to Lucía's neck.

"Drop the gun or I'll kill her."

Lucía let out a sharp breath and that small sound irritated Carlos.

"Silenzio." Carlos whispered into her ear.
[translation: silence]

Enzo frowned. "Not a chance."

Hearing this, Carlos only held the blade closer to her; Lucía shuddered under the cold of the metal against her neck.

"Wouldn't Ramirez want her alive? Think about this Carlos, don't do anything irrational." Enzo challenged.

"You shut up. You left us because you were to scared to finish the job five years ago. Ramirez trusted you and you pulled the rug from underneath him."

Ramirez was the leader of Carlos' gang. The Ramirez gang was the second largest mafia in Mexico.

"Lies, Carlos. I didn't do anything wrong. You left your lookout post and you got caught. You busted the whole team and that's on you, not me."

"Miss Lucía, duck."

Lucía dropped to the ground safely and from behind, a sturdy man tackled Carlos down to the floor. She stood up, slightly confused but safe. She ran over to Enzo and he pulled her into him, away from Carlos.

"Esta bien, Miss Lucía . You're safe."
[translation: it's okay]

She took a deep breath, the recent events still circling her thoughts.

"Please, call me Lucía."

The man who tackled Carlos was Enzo's head of security. Hunter.

"Boss-"

"How the fuck did five armed men get past our security? Tell me Hunter, how the fuck did five armed men get past our security?" Enzo's voice was loud and dominating.

Enzo's breath quickened. Ramirez was meant to back off. Both Hernandez and Enzo had completed their favours to him, but he broke trust with them both.

"Miss- sorry: Lucía, come with me please."

She nodded at him, then followed him into the house where men were cleaning up blood and injured people were being treated. Enzo quickly realised that none of Ramirez's men were dead, only badly injured at the most.

The pair reach a double door with black handles and carvings around the frame. Enzo opened the doors and said:
"Lucía, this... this is the ballroom."
