Hazel removed her ponytail, letting her long loose curls of caramel brown fall down to her back. It was the hardest to choose the best hairstyle as she had the habit of going back to leaving her hair loose after wasting time in trying out all kinds of styles. She strapped on her ankle length black boots, taking a longing glance at the stiletto heels in the back of her closet which she hadn't used in months. She got out of her bedroom after taking one last glimpse of herself in the mirror and as she came out of the door, she saw the maid watching her closely.

"Where are you off to, miss?" The maid questioned.

"Just going to hang out with friends. It's a Sunday." She replied. Hazel knew it was going to be difficult to persuade her mom who was stricter since last month. Her grandma's voice was no longer heard and Bianca, her mother was being vigilant of whom she was meeting and where she was going.

She made her way down the spiral staircase, trying to be as quiet as possible and Bianca stared at her intently from the couch.

"Going somewhere?" Bianca asked, making her freeze halfway down the hall.

"Going to meet up with Soyeon and other friends, mom."

"Does the other friends include boys?" Bianca asked, standing up from the couch and dusting off the invisible dust off her dress. Though at home, she was still dressed up. She stood in front of her and extended a palm, gesturing Hazel to hand over her phone.

"It's a girls day out," Hazel lied partially, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear to avoid her intense gaze.

It sure was a girls day out except that she had to visit Mr. Oh's house after that.

Her mother's eyes scanned through the chats and last dialled calls in Hazel's phone. "Uh-huh, so it means that the boy named Chanyeol wouldn't be there, am I right?"

"Yes, he wouldn't be there."

Bianca's interview went on for long.

Her mother wasn't pleased with her outfit: beige, a-line miniskirt paired with black bardot top. Bianca wanted her to dress elegantly but Hazel was not fond of wearing cardigans and pleated skirts. Their fashion sense never coincided.

"Honey, let the kiddo wear what she likes." Hazel's dad came out listening to the constant bickering echoing in the hall.

Bianca sighed. "Fine. What time will you be back?"

"It'll take quite sometime." Hazel said impatiently. "Mom...Soyeon will be waiting at the mall!"

"I don't care." Bianca declared. "You can't go about your own way. You need to tell me the exact time of when you'll be back home."

Hazel almost wanted to cry when her dad came to her rescue and convinced Bianca to not go so hard on her.

"Let me drop you." Her father said, patting her back in assurance.
