A week had passed yet matters between Kyungsoo and Hazel hadn't gotten any better.

They barely ever spoke to each other. It became a norm for both to wear earphones while riding to school in the mornings. She would hang out with Chanyeol during recess, attend tuition classes with Mr. Oh in the evenings, play basketball till it got dark with Chanyeol, who would walk her back to Kyungsoo's house.

Upon reaching home, she would head to her room while Kyungsoo would remain shut in his study. Neither did he make an effort to patch up nor did she. The reason for her to act indifferent in this situation was because she didn't even know the meaning behind all his actions, but one thing was for sure, both were bitterly hurting on the inside.

"We all shall go togther at 10, honey," Kyungsoo's mother said as Hazel wore her sandals to head to the chapel.

"The morning weather is pleasant, aunty. I'll be back early, don't worry," she insisted.

"Kyungsoo, go with her," his mom urged him as he sat on the couch, unwilling to leave the spot.

"No problem aunty, I'll go by myself," she smiled and threw him bitter glance before leaving.

In the past few days, solitude redefined its meaning. The word which she feared, now brought about peace and solace.

She took her seat in one of the back rows. "Dear Lord, I know that you know what I want and you'll give it to me if I'm deserving of it. But I still want to ask for something... something more meaningful. Please lead me to the answers for the questions I have," she clasped her palms in pray with closed eyes, utmost sincerity resounding in the words she uttered.

The church bell pierced through the walls and its echoes jolted open her eyes. They say that if a bell rings as soon as you make a wish, it comes true. Instinctively, she thought that this was Lord's way of letting her know that her prayers were heard. The chapel was almost deserted with only a handful of elderly parishioners, some scattered in the pews and a nun kneeling in front of the altar. Her eyes caught the attention of a stiff figure on one of the front rows. The sitting posture was elegant and noble; all the more familiar.

Deliberately, she walked over to the front and sat beside the man - Mr. Oh. Although she was skeptical about facing him after what had happened yesterday, she didn't wish to turn away from him; it was not possible to stop the palpitations of her fragile heart upon seeing him there. It somehow happens that once you start liking someone, they start appearing before your eyes every so often. And in her case it was Mr. Oh. Everytime she saw him, she could feel butterflies in the pit of her stomach. She keenly observed his side bangs falling on his forehead as he clasped his palms in deep prayer.

"If only you could pay so much attention in class," he said with a smirk, catching her off-guard.

She suddenly turned her head away in embarrassment. It's amazing how she finds a new way to embarrass herself in front of him all the time.
