Chapter 2

Y/N'S POV

It was finally time. The carriage arrived at the Queen's abode and I quickly slipped on my gloves remembering that I took them off earlier. We exited the carriage and I admired the building. It was astonishing and ratherly large.

You can see girls hastily walking around in there beautiful dresses and neatly combed hair. I walked up to the door and suddenly a pair of hands went over my eyes.

"Guess who!" A voice exclaimed and I knew that voice too well.

"DAPHNE!" I said excitedly as I turned around to see my beloved sister with her significant other at her side.

"Your grace" I said bowing at him.

"No need to bow Y/n, we are family" He said giving me a smile and I did the same.

"Daphne what are you doing here" I said happily.

"Well I couldn't afford to miss my sister's big day also for our family" She smiled and opened her arms gesturing for me to take a hold of it. I nodded and linked my arms with her and we entered the building.

I was in the waiting room with my mother waiting patiently for our name to be called. Nervousness of the girls filled the room, some pasting around.

"Miss Prudence Featherington" We heard the announcer call. This year it was only Prudence and Penelope who needed husbands since their sister Phillipa was taken by Filch. Penelope looked at me and I gave her a nod and mouthed "Good luck" she smiled and mouthed "thank you" back.

They stood in front of the door waiting for it to open. They walked out along the pathway perfectly. Way better than last season. Then, it was my turn. I was extremely nervous. My mama and I stood in front of the door hearing the announcer stating our name.

"Miss Y/n Bridgerton, presented by her mother, The Honorable Lady Violet Bridgerton" The door swung open revealing dozens of people looking straight at us with astonished faces. From the side of my can see my siblings smiling at me.

I walked along the trail way with a smile plastered on my face and mama did the same. We slowly and steadily walked towards the Queen bowing at her feet. We stood back up in place waiting for her opinion. After 5 seconds of silence, she stood up and came forth to me.

"Absolutely stunning, just like your sister" She said with her stern face turning into a smile. I smiled and replied with "Thank you your majesty."

"Oh. My. God." I silently said to my mother.

"Keep smiling dear." My mom whispered back. We turned our bodies and returned back to the hallway. While walking back I looked towards Daphne to see her with a big smile on her face nodding her head.

"That was absolutely insane mama!" I said excitedly with my palms shaking.

"You did splendidly well" Mama said giving me a hug and kissing the top of my head.

We made it back to house and I was getting undressed from the large uncomfortable dress I wore. My sisters were all over in the room chatting of different conversations.

"You definitely minced and simped absolutely well in your dress sister." Daphne said hugging me.

"Thank you Daphne, I learned from the best" I giggled.

"Holy! Mrs. Whistledown created a new article for this season." Eloise said barging into the room with a surprised yet excited face.

"Peruse then!" I said waiting to hear what the article stated.

"It reports "Seems like Y/n Bridgerton has taken the steps of her sister, The Duchess of Hastings, Daphne Bridgeton. Miss Bridgerton has took the attention of the Queen out if 200 young ladies present at today's first day of the Marriage Mart. Looks like she has a strong start at this year's season" Eloise read aloud for us.

"So Whistledown is back in town?" Hyacinth said skipping along the room.

"Yes, and we need to figure out who she is" Eloise said with confidence.

"I do wish I could assist but I might be busy" I said with feeling a sense of defeat because I really wanted to help Eloise and Penelope unmask her.

"No problem sister, Pen and I got it in hand."

"Dearests, your dresses are here." Mama said with the maids behind her carrying boxes. We all quickly ran to the table and opened the boxes with our names labelled on them. I admired the beautiful periwinkle blue dress I received.

"Mama have you heard Lady Whistledown began writing again?" I said.

"No I haven't. Anyways, Lady Whistledown is just here for the commotion and scandals around London."

"But Y/n is written on today's article" nosey Hyacinth said.

"Really?" Mama said shock not wanting a bad name put on our families reputation.

"Don't worry mama, it's good news." Daphne reassured her.

"Lady Whistledown named her the most incomparable of the season" Daphne said proudly.

"How lovely! She got something right for once" She said and we all laughed.

"Ah yes! My sister is already a diamond" Daphne giggled.
