Chapter 7

Y/N'S POV:

I quickly walked to the garden nearby to get away from the crowds of people and to let it all out. I grunted out of anger pasting around the landscape trying to comprehend this whole situation until I heard running towards me. It was Tewkesbury.

"Oh um..." I said nervously quickly drying my tears with my glove.

"Are you ok Y/n" he asked bracing me into a hug. And I just sobbed in his arms.

"Um, I should not be doing this. I dont want to mess up your attire with my tears." I said stepping back.

"Its ok, let it all out." He said hugging me again and I just cried holding him tightly. I felt safe in his arms, like I belonged there.

"Let's have a seat, shall we" He said gesturing his hand to the bench.

"Haha yes" I said wiping my face. We sat in silence for a few minutes while he comforted me. It wasn't an awkward silence but more......nice I should say. We didnt talk but he would slowly rub my back and hold my hand reassuringly.

"Wh-...why did you come after me?" I asked.

"I don't know, I thought you might need some comforting and I dont want you be lonely in this garden at night" He laughed and I giggled at his statement.

"I guess you're right." I laughed.

"Um...thank you Tewkesbury.....for everything. I really appreciate it" I looked at him and smiled.

"No problem, I'm always here if you need me." He said smiling back.

"Bu if you dont mind me asking, why don't you want to marry Newton?" He looked confused.

"Well......there's actually nothing wrong with him but I just don't feel the connection. I want to marry someone for love, not because of their accomplishments or hierarchy" I said truthfully.

"Besides, he's always talking about his family's fortune which irritates me sometimes" I laugh.

"I guess you're right on that one" Tewkesbury laughed.

"And what about you your Grace? Have you find your lucky girl?" I asked.

"Because you clearly have them all swooned over you" I giggled.

"No, and I dont even think of marrying them. I have to agree I you, I want to marry for love" He said looking straight into the distance.

"But I guess our parents will never understand that" He said getting off of the bench and putting out his hand for me to grab.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Just come on" He laughed. I grabbed his hand and he took me to the biggest part of the garden and he sat on the grass.

"Tewkesbury! what re you doing? The ground is filthy" I giggled.

"C'mon, just follow my lead." He said, but either way I trusted him.

"I better not ruin my dress" I laughed but he took it into consideration and took of his jacket, laying it on the floor for me to sit on.

"I was only joking Tewkesbury" I said.

"No, go ahead, I insist." He smiled at me.

I sat on the grass and he leaned backwards making his whole body lay flat on the ground and I did the same. At this point we were both looking at the beautiful stars and constellations.

"It's spectacular isn't it?" He asked.

"Absolutely beautiful" I responded.

We sat in silence for a while admiring the sight in front of us.

"Um...I see a heart." He said and I was confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked looking at him.

"Well if you connect the stars,  it can turn out to be a image. For example I see a heart" He said pointing out the stars.

"Try it out" He said moving his head to look and me.

"Ok sure" I looked at the stars over my head and connected them to see what they would create.

"Uh.....I see a....bunny! Look over there" I said pointing to the stars and connected the stars with my fingers.

"See! Look at the ears!" I said giggling and he laughed.

"Oh, I see it now!" he said and we laughed.

I had a really comforting and enjoyable night with Tewkesbury looking at the stars. I don't ever really get to enjoy and do these kind of things alot so it was really nice to do so. After some time, Tewkesbury and I left the garden and walked back to the main ball hand in hand gaining alot of attention from everyone.

Hopefully they didn't think that we were a "thing" because we were just friends. I especially got deep looks from Mama and Anthony. Mother looked quite pleased while Anthony looked in disbelief. Tewkesbury and I sat at a table and talked for a while until alot of people made their way to the dance floor to do ballroom dancing.

"May I?" Tewkesbury asked gesturing his hand for me to take to dance with him.

"Ofcourse" I said.

He lead us to the dance floor and he placed his hand on my hip while I placed my hand on his shoulder. He looked deeply into my eyes and I pierced deeply into his while we danced. You could see a smile growing on his face while dancing which I'm sure made me blush like crazy.

The next day I woke up with a smile on my face remembering the events that took place last night, but I knew for a fact Anthony would ask about it. I got ready for my day with Rose and walked down to the drawing room just to see mother reading the latest Whistledown.

"Morning mama" I said taking a seat next to her and grabbing a biscuit from  a tray.

"Morning dear. Would you not want to have a proper breakfast?" She laughed.

"I'm fine mama, I'm not that hungry." I giggled.

"Alright. So last nigh-..." She started but I cut her off.

"Mama!" I exclaimed already knowing what she was going to ask.

"C'mon Y/n, I just want to know one thing." She begged.

"Fine, but just one thing" I smiled.

"So you and Lord Tewkesbury?" She asked with a smirk growing on her face.

"We are just friends Mother, is something wrong?" I laughed.

"Not at all, but you all seemed to be having a little too much fun last night" she looked at me and smiled.

"Yes, it was very fun indeed but nothing happened"

"We saw you guys come out of the garden, what were you doing?"

"Mama I said only one question" I stated.

"Fine fine, I'm done with the questions"  She laughed taking a sip of her tea.

"But your brother looked very unpleased, he might ask soon"

"I know, I guess he will just find out the hard way" I laughed.

"Your Grace, a visitor for Miss Bridgerton is outside" Rose said coming into the drawing room.

"Really?" I asked not expecting any visitors.

"Lord Tewkesbury, I believe your grace" Rose said which made a smile appear on my face.
