mary's rough words leave you in a state of shock, but there's someone who matters more in this instant then you and your confusion do.
however, efforts to reach said person are slowed as you notice sayaka reached for her taser, rage flaring in her blue eyes.
sayaka's eyes.. or rather sayaka entirely, is like the sea. it's memorizing, amazing, and can fix so many problems. it protects things it holds dear, like kirari, with complete sacrifice. but when it is angered, the waters you found so comforting and kind whip into a stormy sea of rage that makes you want to run as far as you can.
"sayaka-" the president tries to say, reaching for the sleeve of her blazer calmly, but that's the wrong approach. sayaka can't be stopped in this second with words.
instead, one must do as midari does, by pouncing on the secretary and keeping the thrashing girl somewhat pinned to the edge of the table, throwing the taser in the opposite direction, where runa chased after it for a second before grabbing it and putting it away safely.
"midari ikishima, let go!" sayaka snapped, her flowing blue hair waving in the air alongside the ribbon containing it.
"as fun as it would be to watch you kill a bitch, this is too far sayaka- you can't think! calm down-"
you realize suddenly that you're on your feet, and you make your way over to sayaka's fighting body. midari, although physically strong, won't be able to hold out much longer against sayaka's fury and equally matched strength, and no one else at the table would be able to keep her contained, unless runa decides to tase her, which is unlikely and possibly wrong because there's the possibility sayaka has a immunity or has built a tolerance against being tased.
well, the president could, but after her first failed attempt she stared, rather shocked, at sayaka instead of doing anything else to stop her from tasing mary.
"sayaka, stop. there isn't anything you can do; and it doesn't matter anyway." you speak, trying to not let her struggle influence your emotions.
sayaka glares at you, but she stops fighting midari a little less and her tense body relaxes, if only slightly. "it does matter." she insists. "this is the third time she's insulted the president, and she completely disrespected the president's sister; i-!"
"mary's disrespectful, hot-headed, rash, impulsive, and uncontrollable." you agree, which seems to confuse the secretary enough to get sayaka to stop fighting completely. midari heaves a sigh of relief and gets off, examining claw marks on her arms with hesitation.
"but, there's probably some other reason why she's so hot tempered today. and physical violence doesn't do anything," here you see yumeko roll her eyes as you seem to be speaking like a preschool caregiver, "but if you actually want to do something you need to go for mental. right? i assumed you would know this."
at those words, sayaka's face flushed and she readjusted her blazer, sitting up self-consciously. "i.. do know that." she whispered, looking slightly horrified.
she jumped from the seat she had been jammed into, bowing her head miserably in the president's direction, then moving to midari, then going to you. "i'm so sorry. i know better than that. i don't know what came over me there."
she straightened, playing with the cuffs on her sleeves for a millisecond before blurting out hurriedly, "i- need to go cool down. i'm going to go to the restroom."
you sigh gratefully as she rushes off in a different direction, although you would make it a point to check in with her later, and turn to try to find the person you had originally been looking for.
