"yumeko still isn't here?" you question, and mary shakes her head, shrugging but in an uncomfortable way. she didn't like yumeko's rather abrupt vanish any more than you did.

"should we go over there and try to drag her back?" itsuki suggests, and you sigh.

"i mean, yumeko kinda just does what she feels like, right? i doubt she'd come back if we asked her, otherwise she'd currently be.. here.."

"what if she got killed and they're keeping her corpse in the back of a casino?"

you bolt, furrowing your brow in concern at itsuki. "how did you get dark so quickly- i hope miroslava's a fan of your sudden either suggestive or depressing 'suggestions'."

"what? what does miro have to do with this?"

"she's joining this school, remember? and she agreed to meet you for coffee this saturday. that's tomorrow."

"oh. right. i feel very nervous about that."

"but not of yumeko's dead corpse rotting in the back of a gambling casino?"

"that better not be foreshadowing." mary advised the author, shaking her head disapprovingly.

it was another one of those days when everyone's love interests were busy, so you, itsuki and mary were spending time in the cafeteria during a friday afternoon. yumeko was, yet again, absent from classes, making it the fourth day in a row.

according to mary, her randomly disappearing for a day or two was regular, so you had tried to shrug it off for the first while, but now she was just gone. you had tried to call her a few times, but it went straight to voicemail, and neither sumeragi nor saotome had faired better with trying to contact her.

"y/n?"

you jerk upward, spinning around the bench and smiling as you recongnize the voice of one of your girlfriends.

"oh, sayaka! hi! did your meeting end early?"

"no, it didn't, we're going to discuss the planning for the redoing of the garden club's sprinkling system for at least another hour or so. but the president asked me to inform you you'll be coming to her house this saturday at six in the afternoon."

"sounds good to me. it sounds like it wasn't up for debate, though- you can tell her i'm coming."

"of course. thank you, y/n." sayaka breathed a sigh of relief, sending off a text before speedwalking away from the table to return to her ongoing debate about how to properly set up a sprinkling system.

"she never stops working, does she? poor idiot. she needs to take a break."

"no calling my girlfriend an idiot, sumeragi."

"that's ms. sumeragi to you. anyway, since you're about to be railed into oblivion this weekend at precisely six, can you help me with something on saturday morning?"

"you need me to help you out on your date, don't you. you poor fool."

"ey, watch your tongue."

"you guys never get tired, do you? anyway, i have a den to take care of. see you all in a bit, i guess."

"wait! you also have a girlfriend! you need to help me get mine too! come to my house tomorrow morning, kay?" itsuki yelled as saotome retreated from the table, earning her a "yeah, yeah!" from the blonde girl.

"cool!"

"you sound very desperate, sumeragi." you shake your head at her in mock disapproval, and she throws her math homework at you.
