A week before the first challenge and you still had no clue what you were doing. You were making your way to the Great Hall for something to fill your empty stomach when you heard two familiar voices call your name. You saw George and Fred running towards you.
Y/N- what's going on?
Fred- we know!
George- we know what the first task is!
Y/N- what is it?
Both- Dragons
Y/N- Dragons?
George- you have to get an egg from a dragon
Fred- so we brought this
They hand you an Ice potion, which causes the drinker to become resistant to fire.
George- we asked a friend of ours to make it
You held the bottle in your hands and put it close to your chest. You wrapped your arms around both of their necks
Y/N- I owe you guys bug time
Fred- now come on, let's go study some dragons

It was time for the first challenge. You read every book on dragons with the Twins for a week straight, with a couple helpful spells here and there. You made your way to the challengers tent. You circled around to choose the dragon, you were third to grab yours. You reached in the small bag to grab one. One nibbled on your finger, you pulled it out to reveal
Crouch- an Antipodean Opaleye
A pure white dragon with pearly scales that spat vivid red fire. You knew only one thing about this dragon, it liked sheep...and you couldn't summon one with Accio. You waited in the tent with the other waiting competitors. Soon it was your turn

Cedric- good luck!
Y/N- thanks...
You walked out. The Slytherins were cheering. You could see your father, Severus clapping with a smile. You turned to see the big Antipodean Opaleye roaring. You quickly drank the Ice potion and hid behind a rock. You felt cold, which was a perfectly normal side effect. You ran. Just then the dragon spat its bright red flame in your direction
Y/N- I hope this works...
You ran through its flames, you heard the crowd gasp. You felt fine, the fire felt like it was tickling you. You could see the golden egg and ran right for it. You held it in your arms as the red flame around you disappeared.
Crouch- Y/N Snape has completed the first task!
The crowds cheered. You held the egg tightly in your arms. You looked up at Severus with a smile, he was smiling back. You took the egg to the others who had already completed the first task and waited.
