Chapter 30: The Second Task

You stood with everyone else at the docks of the Black Lake. You wished George was there to comfort you...what are you saying? You were snapped back when Severus spoke up

Severus- you can do this

Y/N- thank you

As Crouch was talking, Harry tapped your arm. He whispered to you

Harry- I thought you still needed a bit of help, so I brought extra Gillyweed

He put a substance in your hand. You both then ate the plant and jumped in the water. You watched as you both started gaining fins and gils, you nodded to him as a thank you before swimming off. You didn't know what you were looking for but you only had an hour. You swam until you saw what looked like five people. You swam closer to see it was people, but only recognized one of them, George. You broke the thick seaweed with the Bombarda spell and grabbed George. Everyone else was making their way to their person. I was starting to swim back but you felt something attack your ankles. You looked down to see a Kelpie, a shapeshifting water demon. You tried to free yourself but it dragged you deeper down. Your Gillyweed wasn't gonna last for much longer. You then got an idea. You thought about the docks you were on at the start of the challenge and Apparated, you coughed as you fell by Severus's ankles. George was too. You looked at him

Y/N- are you alright??

He smiled

George- i'm fine

The two of you were given towels as you waited for Harry, who came above the surface seconds later.

Y/N- thank you so much Harry for the Gillyweed

Harry- of course

What were you doing?! You can't befriend the person you're supposed to kill!! Or it would be even harder for you then it already was!! Severus walked with you back to the common room.

Severus- Gillyweed?

Y/N- I didn't know what else to do

Severus- but when did you learn to swim?

Y/N- George taught me

He scowled

Severus- of course he would do something like that

Y/N- so wait, where the people chosen the people we went to the Yule Ball with? Cause I saw both Cedric and Krum's dates

Severus- those two were for that reason, yours too but I wanted it to be Draco Malfoy

Y/N- i'm assuming you don't like George

Severus I dislike him with every fiber of my being

Y/N- he won't get off my back

Severus- you can't let him distract you from whats at hand

Y/N- the Tournament?

Severus- and your job

Y/N- oh right

Severus- come on, we need to prepare

Y/N- prepare for what?

He turned to face you

Severus- for everything
