I stole a glance around the bookshelves and the empty desk that sat in the lonely corner of my room. It used to be a dreamer's haven, now it was filled with boxes that held my childhood things together with my childish dreams.

Then, I realized, no more fantasies and make believe. No more dragons, sword-wielding princes, petty tears, and magic. A storm of fear invaded the entirety of my system as the reality of the future dawned on me.

I tried to find words, a common phrase, anything to straighten out the train wreck in my head. A shudder went down my spine as my hands dropped to my sides, "Time to grow up".

It was time to leave my youth behind.
