Kao
I woke up to the rays of sun blinding me over the parted curtains of my room. I groaned and closed my eyes shut for some time before I gave it one deep squint and finally opened it.
I stared at the ceiling for a while before I sat up and realized that it was the afternoon sun that had been lighting the whole of my room.
I heaved a sigh.
I slept that long then.
Not surprising tho.
I tried listening to the surrounding.
The house was quiet.
And it's not because my parents are at work and I'm alone at the house as usual since it's the start of semestral break for me.
It's more than that.
I decided to get up and then I saw my reflection on the tv screen just right beside my bed and it didn't need more light for me to see how my eyes were puffy.
Actually, I'm feeling it at the moment.
It's still very heavy.
Just like how I am feeling.
And it was just not because I slept late last night.
I blew an air out as I was still staring at my reflection.
Only if it was all but a dream.
But I know it wasn't.
The trace of tears and dried snot on my face were the living proof that it wasn't.
I bit on my lower lip when I recalled everything and I felt like crying again...
"Jesus, you two!?! Can't you keep your hands off each other for a second!?!"
It was already around two in the morning and Tito Luis's voice boomed in the four corners of the room as I squabbled to stand up and get away from Pete.
The bones that I needed to pick with this guy just continued adding up by the minute, but I would get into it right after I explained everything to my obviously un amused mother the whole matter.
"Ma! It's not what you think. I just slipped and fell on him."
My mother closed her eyes before massaging her temple.
"How convenient of you to fall right into each other's faces. I guess my decision was right after all."
I heard my mother said but looked at my father who just pursed his lips on the latter part of her sentence.
"Decision!?!"
I furrowed my brows as I straightened up and swatted Pete's hand that was asking for help in getting up away.
I heard him groan in disappointment but I didn't care.
"Pa? Tito? Tita? What decision!?!"
Both Pete and I's parents looked at each other before Tito Luis spoke.
"Well...Uhm, in the light of what we saw earlier and after a thorough discussion, we, your parents and us, we decided for you and Pete to get married."
I blinked at the elders.
"I'm sorry, what?!?"
I heard Pete said something beside me but I couldn't care less about him.
I was more concerned of what I heard his father said.
"You heard your Tito Luis right, Kao. Your mother and I decided that after what we saw and learned about you two, you need to get married."
Okay, I'm dreaming right!?!
