New character introduction on a Tuesday, loves!😉

"So you're alive!?! For a while there I thought you died over the semestral break! Where were you!?!"

I had to put my phone away from my ear just before I got deaf.

I was on the phone with my best friend-the one I'm not in love with-Lia.

We've been friends since we met when we took the entrance exam at TS university and eventually became best friends since then.

She knows everything about me.

About my feeling for LJ and about how we're supposed to be together when we turned twenty one.

She didn't know about me being married already.

"Did you bring me anything from the states!?!"

I replied and I heard her groaned in annoyance.

Based from her posts, she just returned to the country two days ago.

All of her family were in the states already since she was about ten and she just came back to the country for college because as she put it-American Universities don't deserve her brilliance-but the truth is, she wanted to get away from her family of lawyers who wanted her to be one too when she didn't.

"You didn't even ask about my flight or if I'm okay after being MIA for weeks and the first thing you ask is a gift!?! Yeah I brought you this really cute outfit for when you and your greatest love finally get together."

Lia wriggled her eyebrows at me and I could only smile a sad smile.

"Hey?!? What's wrong!?! Did you not like my gift!?!"

"It's from you so I'm sure yes. God knows how clueless you are when it comes to gifts."

"Oh, wow! Look at you insulting me! Are you becoming pompous and snub just because you're about to get yourself a boyfriend already!?!"

Of course she also knew about the pact that LJ and I had.

"Yeah, about that. He finally has a girlfriend."

I said.

Still hurting with the fact.

"Oh, wow! Congratulations--what!?! What do you mean!?!"

I heaved a sigh and rolled my eyes at my best friend.

Trust her to really be out of sort sometimes.

"I mean, the deal is off! I'm not having him as a boyfriend in my twenty first birthday."

Surprisingly, the thought wasn't as depressing as it was the first time.

Although I would still go for LJ in a heartbeat.

"Oh...is it why you were off the grid for a whole week!?! Were you nursing your broken heart!?!"

How do I say this!?!

I was nursing a broken heart- but it's not because it broke for LJ.

I was married against my will to the man I didn't even like-would that be heart breaking enough!?!

"Yeah. You can say that."

It was more that heartbreaking actually.

"Tsk. I'm sorry."

I smiled when I heard Lia's empathetic voice.

"It's not your fault."

Yeah, I know.
