Pete

I furrowed my brows as I watched the guy run around the place like a cat in labor.

He couldn't possibly be pregnant though, because for one, we have not yet fully consummated our marriage and two, I was looking at my husband, unless there's any biological anomaly, he can't get pregnant.

"Kao, are you okay?"

I finally asked out loud a long time of watching him pace from one pantry to another opening the fridge and closing it again then strut to the cupboards and back to first base again.

I was at the living room preparing my stuff for university later in two hours.

It was around six in the morning and I was surprised Kao was already up and about freshly showered in the kitchen when I came out of my room straight from bed without a shower yet.

"I'm good. Just don't talk to me."

He said after some time without looking at me.

He was now back to examining the fridge which if I was not mistaken he had done for five times within the hour.

"If I don't talk to you, who should I be talking too?"

He gave me the look before he rolled his eyes and went back to what he was doing.

"I don't know, just improvise or something."

I furrowed my brows with what he said.

What would I even do that!?!

"Okay. What's up? What's this about? Tell me!"

I went over to where he was but I can't seem to get too close as he was pacing here and there.

"Corned beef and hotdog. Final!"

He said he opened the friend again and took a pack of hotdog before perusing the nearby cupboards for a can of corned beef.

"So you mean to tell me, all these time you were deliberating on what to cook for breakfast!?!"

He trailed off and then faced me.

"Yeah. And now that I finally came up with an idea, please don't bother me."

He said as he was gathering the condiments still avoiding my eyes.

Could it be that he was still mad about the not coming home to the province this weekend thing!?!

I shook my head at the idea.

Trust Kao to be so petty.

Whatever, I've already explained myself, it's up to him if he'd accept my reason of not.

He can go home alone for all I care!

I heaved a sigh before I decided to dismiss him.

"I'm hitting the shower."

I said rhetorically but I was surprised when I heard him mumbled under his breath while chopping the onions.

"Geez! You don't have to tell me that. I don't want to know.Just go and do your stuff."

I looked at him sniffing and cursing at the onions and I could only shake my head.

Geez!

He didn't really have to cook if it's too much of a burden for him.

But then again, maybe his mother told him to do so before she left, that's why Kao gave me the greatest surprise of all when I saw him up before me by the kitchen-even if it was very unsettling seeing him paced by the counter.
