Kao
"Let's do it!"
I swallowed dryly as I bravely looked at Pete in the eyes.
I really have no idea what came over me but I was all hyped up and convinced that I knew what I wanted at that moment.
My adrenaline was rushing that I was both feeling cold and hot in the face when it suddenly fell off all dumb and frozen when I heard what Pete replied.
"Do what?-oh, snorkeling you mean? But it's almost sunset. You told me earlier you didn't want to that's why I went alone."
I blinked at Pete before I face palmed.
Maybe this is a bad idea.
Maybe I shouldn't have asked him in the first place.
<Earlier>
"Don't forget your ring."
I rolled my eyes at Pete as I reached for my bag on the backseat and perused it for my ring.
"I know."
I looked at his left hand on the stirring wheel and there I saw a silver band around his ring finger that was identical to mine and I couldn't help but scoff inwardly.
So much for high hopes and pretense.
"Ready to face the family!??"
I heard Pete asked but I just looked at him before I got off the car without a word and walked straight to the entrance without looking back.
A few moments after, Pete was already walking beside me with both our bags in tow.
He has his on his right hand while mine was on his left shoulder but I was not in the mood to swoon at him.
I jus did so earlier and look what it got me.
Self loathing.
For being so stupid!
"What's up with you?"
Pete asked as we made our way towards where our families were waiting as per the information we got from the reception.
"Are you okay?"
He asked me again but I just looked at him before I went straight to walking out on him that I faintly headed him commented.
"No! You. Are not!"
No shvt Sherlock!
How can I be okay with what you just did you jerk!
I groaned inwardly as I remembered what happened earlier in the car.
"I'm just being honest. As I always am when I'm with you."
I blinked at Pete.
The smile I had on faded the moment I heard what I said.
My face felt hot and I could almost hear my heart beating.
What the bell is happening!?!
"Ha.Ha. Haha."
I meant to laugh at him to lighten the mood but even in my own ears, the laugh sounded strained and forced and yeah stupid.
But Pete didn't seem to mind as he continued smiling and even wriggling his eyebrows at me over the steering wheel that I felt jumpy all the more.
