Shower Thoughts

Today I stood in the shower
To see if I was still sane enough to cry
But out of all the water trickling down my body
Not one contained a single chain of my DNA
And this water was so hot,
I turned it up all the way so it would
Burn me and hopefully trigger my eyes
But it ran down my back till it felt cold
And made my body feel as numb as my mind
Now it just feels like home
