Chapter 15

While Levi was walking, Conrad looked around and walked away from him, wondering about the halls aimlessly.

"Kid?" Reiner asked.

Conrad looked up to see four unfamiliar faces looking back at him.

"You lost or something?" He asked.

"No, I'm exploring."

"Who's meant to be looking after you?" Eren asked.

"Meanie."

"Meanie? Who the hells that?" Jean asked confused.

Eren started to snickered and held his hand out towards Conrad.

"He means Levi, come on, let's get you something to eat."

Conrad nodded excitedly at the offer and ran to join the four. Jean lifted Conrad up and sat him on his shoulders while they talked.

"So what's it like to be a prince?" Reiner asked.

"It's nice, I get a lot of things I ask for. I don't ask for much though."

Everyone nodded their heads while smiling, joking and laughing around as they made their way to the dining hall.

"Conrad, you're meant to be with Levi." Erwin sighed.

"He's mean."

"So you ran away?"

"No. I walked."

Everyone laughed, Erwin rolled his eyes with a small smile. Conrad reminded him of you when you were younger, Well, not just younger even when you were here.

"Someone go get Levi please, tell him we've found Conrad."

"Yes sir!" Connie said jogging away.

Jean swept Conrad of his soldiers and sat him on the bench between Mikasa and Christa.

"I like your crown." Christa smiler.

"Thank you..." Conrad blushed.

He looked around the table to see everyone talking and laughing, he didn't understand most of the conversations going on, but seeing everyone happy made him feel happy too.

"So kid, who are you exactly?" Ymir questioned.

Conrad stood up so everybody could see him better, and placed a hand over his heart just like you taught him when introducing himself, and bowed lightly.

"I'm Conrad, the prince of the demon kingdom."

"But your human, right?" She asked next.

Conrad straightened up, nodding his head.

"I'm human, (Y/N) is a demon though, she said she's going to teach me so many cool things!"

Everyone smiled at him and he beamed brightly back.

Just has he went to sit down, someone grabbed his shirt from behind and lifted him into the air, setting him on the floor in front of them.

"Don't run off idiot."

"I didn't, I already told Mr Erwin, I walked."

Levi smirked briefly before his face went back to its usual expressionless state. He crouched down next to Conrad and flicked his head making the boy yelp.

"Okay smartass, don't walk off either. You'll get lost of something."

Conrad raised his hand and flicked Levi in the head just like he'd done to him.

"You're not (Y/N) or Mr Wisp, I don't listen to you Meanie."

"Do you want to get lost?"

Conrad shook his head nervously.

"Right, well don't wonder off then. I'm looking after you, so you have to do what I say."

"Why?"

"Because someone's got to look after you."

Conrad pouted and nodded his head. Levi lifted Conrad up and slipped him back into the bench.

"Come to my table after you're done eating."

Levi walked away leaving Conrad in the hands of the cadets while they ate dinner.

"Don't be upset kiddo, he's mean to everyone." Reiner smiled.

"He's a meanie, big meanie."

"You know he really cares for (Y/N), and she really cares for him. He's worried about her and wants to look after you until she's better."

Conrad looked over at Armin who just spoke and tilted his head a little.

"Why does he care for her?"

"Well, he loves her. The last time she was here was 2 years ago, he hasn't been the same since then."

Conrad nodded his head, he didn't fully understand what love meant, but he knew what sadness was, and it was radiating from Levi.
