Chapter One
Sɪʟᴇɴᴄᴇ

𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐎

Klaus Mikaelson hadn't been counting the days. He figured it would make them longer, as if they weren't already long enough. The silence was infuriating, and the fact that nothing could be done about it made him angrier.

But it was for his little girl, she made all this suffering worth it.

He was acutely aware of his surroundings. After around twelve months he had been growing slightly immune to the blade that was causing him untold agony. He could still tell when a girl was placed down here with him.

"Who are you?" River asked, seeing the curly haired man leaning against a wall. She couldn't tell if his hair was curled from the dirt, or if it was naturally like that, either way, she thought it suited him. The black jeans and shirt he was wearing looked dirty, along with the rest of this dungeon.

Klaus couldn't answer, and she seemed to understand that by the way he was just staring at her. He heard an accent but couldn't tell where it was from. She slightly laughed at her own stupidity.

"I can help you, okay?" She gave a small smile as Klaus nodded, the bare minimum of what he could do at the moment. He didn't know what she was going to do, or why she immediately offered to help him.

River trailed her eyes around the room, searching for something. She knew there had to be some magic item immobilizing him. If she found it she could draw power from it.

She felt it's power coming from the same direction as him. "Is there something inside of you?" She smiled in accomplishment when he nodded, "this might hurt a bit."

Klaus watched in more confusion than amazement as her eyes turned a pale grey and she slightly spun her fingers, causing multiple silver lines to run from her hand to Klaus' chest. He jerked forward the slightest bit when the agony that the blade in his chest was causing him suddenly stopped.

She scooted backwards, leaning against the wall and panting heavily from the rush she just felt. Whatever that was, had a lot of magic imbued in it.

"What did you do," Klaus asked. His voice was scratchy from either lack of blood or lack of food. The blade was still in his chest, still causing him pain, but not agony. River could tell that he had an accent, even from the pieces of his question that she got.

"I took the magic out of whatever that was," River said, gesturing towards his chest. "Are you in here for a reason as dumb as mine? Your an original, right?" She had felt his power when scanning the room, he couldn't have been a regular vampire and radiate so much.

Klaus cleared his throat before answering, "I was protecting my family, something that hundreds of people saw as a crime. I only learned to leave less survivors."

River snorted, "You should've learned that a long time ago. You have yet to answer my question."

Klaus contemplated which name to tell her. "I'm Nik."

River nodded in understanding. "Niklaus," she corrected, a small smirk on her face at his shocked expression. "Yes, I know who you are. I've been around for a while."

Klaus studied her closely. He couldn't tell what her intentions were, and he didn't like being unsure. "And who are you?"

River slightly tugged at one of the chains connected to her arm. She wanted to talk to him, but not in this dungeon. It was common knowledge that his paranoia wouldn't let him allow her into his mind. "I'm River Creed." She smiled when recognition flashed on his face. "First fabrikator."

Fabrikators are basically if Wanda Maximoff and Loki had a kid. Power wise. I'm stoked!

She has an accent alike to Wanda's as well and since Sokovia isn't a real place, we are just gonna go with Romania. It's close enough.
