Equally feels like oppression when you're accustomed to privilege....

That statement alone holds more power than the blood rushing through my veins

As a young black female I feel for this sentence everyday.

Because every time I look up and open my eyes there's another thing taken away from my kind.

America, the land of the free where all race becomes one.

But as I stand here, I've never felt more alone.
ActuallyI've never felt as If i had a whole nation standing beside me in all of my 19 years,

I fall behind the majority and into a line of acceptance like some of my other black peers.

153 years later and I still feel the chains rapped around my ancestors wrists as if they were my own.

Every jab that the white man throws my way and my people laughs,

feels like another whip slashing across my back.
