A child is born and instead of coming into the world surrounded by
Praises and joy
We're slapped on the ass and
labeled as a girl and black.

You are not designed to be the superior gender or made to be one's equal

and to push out a couple of babies
You'll probably get a ring if you're lucky.
A housewife/whore/ or ugly
Are your only options and luckily you're
Not the ladder.
But still, you're African American.
A beauty but incomparable to the white woman's
See she will always be better.
Her hair's longer and silkier
Her smile's bigger and holds no pain and she doesn't have years
Of oppression hanging over her last name.

You are not seen as a threat
But you are a bottom feeder
Made for the pleasure of men even if it's
Forcefully
You will know your place by any means necessary
