it was the day after. the day after y/n had asked yaoyorozu on a date, and the perfect day for a picnic. it all seemed to line up wonderfully, and the black-haired girl stood outside the tall, somewhat intimidating gates of her house with a picnic basket in her hands. despite it being a cool november day, the sun was out, and for once, it wasn't raining. even if it did, the two of them could just transfer into the comfort of yaoyorozu's home and sit in the conservatory instead.

the taller girl wore a stripy, knitted jumper tucked into a pair of blue jeans, and her hair was tied back like usual, but with a pretty flower pinning the loose strands in place. it was nothing special, but she thought it suited the first date and would keep her warm.

of course, if y/n decided to come in a summery outfit and regret her decision after the biting wind nipped at her skin, yaoyorozu had hoodies prepared that'd fit her just fine.

heart racing against her chest, the girl fiddled with the straps of the brown picnic basket on her arm and checked her watch. she'd left u.a that morning to prepare everything, way before y/n had even woken up, so she prayed the forgetful girl hadn't forgotten what they'd planned. although, it was doubtful. y/n didn't forget the things she was nervous about, and from her shaky actions the night before, it was clear she was just as terrified - if not, more - as yaoyorozu was herself.

taking a deep sigh, she looked up once again and glanced down the street, and her heart skipped a beat.

halfway up the street was y/n, her eyes wide in awe as she looked at all the huge properties gated off by security systems. she was clearly stunned by how beautiful they were, wondering what it was like on the inside and if she'd ever get half the amount of money those families were worth in her lifetime. god, yaoyorozu was so, so lucky, and y/n couldn't deny she was a little jealous. not in a bad way, of course, because y/n adored the taller of them, but she couldn't help but let her stomach sink whenever she saw the expensive buildings and stunning gardens.

"y/n!" yaoyorozu called, and y/n snapped out of her mini-trance. a huge smile appeared on her face when she saw the black-haired girl waving her over, and she picked up her pace into an almost-run. she didn't need to bother whether she'd trip over a rock jutting from the middle of the road or fall into a small pot-hole; this area was very, very well looked after, and didn't need to bother looking where she put her feet. "hi!"

"hello!" y/n exclaimed with an excited smile, slowing down until she reached her date. yaoyorozu looked lovely, as per usual, and y/n couldn't help but be mesmerised by her appearance and voice alone. she was the definition of an angel. "ah, i'm so sorry i'm late, i ended up getting lost at the crossing and walking down the wrong street, i thought i wouldn't make it at all!"
