Hush

Introduction to the story..

      As Emily was walking home  from school she was listening to "A Thousand Years " by Christina Perri on her IPhone 6s plus while walking on the mangled sidewalks of her small hometown Rosedale, Mississippi. Not much happened in her hometown, for her it was boring but peaceful. Even though no place is safe, Rosedale made her feel safe.

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.

     Emily sang with her baby blue headphones on that covered her paltry ears. 5 minutes away from her crappy apartment , she decided to go too the convenience store for a small snack . She had 3 dollars and fifty cents. As she walked in, no one was in sight . Which didn't alarm her because its common.

Emily grabbed one Green Apple Blow Pop , a Pink Laffy Taffy, and two Mystery Airheads. She walked to the check out, and got on her tip toes to put her stuff on the counter so that the cashier Carlos could scan the items. Carlos lived next door from her in the Rosewood apartments.

" That will be $1.00 even Miss lady" Carlos said. Emily smiled and handed him a one dollar bill grabbed her candy , as Emily walked out of the store , she noticed that a strange man was watching her but she did not think any further on it so she continued to walk home.

"Hey there" a daunting voice said to Emily, as she was walking home.  Emily did not respond because she couldn't hear him over her music.

"Hey young lady" the bizarre old man said louder again trying to get Emily's attention. He looked to be in his late 40's with a lousy Crown Vic that reeked of Newport ashes and hoary gas station pizza.

"Oh hey" Emily said with a slight smile. Emily never noticed that it was the man who was watching her at the store. He was no man she ever see in  town before. Around Rosedale, everyone knew each other so she found it quite strange.

"What's your name young lady?" he asked.

" I'm sorry sir, I have to get home now, my mom is waiting up" Emily said trying to avoid conversation with the man.  She started back walking

The man had now disappeared which made Emily feel more comfortable. Emily started her music back up, and went down the side road. She hated going down that road because it was nothing but drug addicts, and homeless people. No one ever messed with her because they knew her since she was a baby  but it still made her nervous. As she finally escaped that road, she turned on her last alley before having to make it to her house only to discover the old man.
