How unfortunate.

Here I am, fake sobbing along with all the other women at the funeral of the king.

"How could someone do this?" My sister cried in disgust. Others murmured in agreement.

Oh, come on, now.

Everyone knew he was a corrupt leader. It's not like anyone was actually upset. I could sense the relief in the atmosphere. I had done them all a huge favour, after all.

The whole funeral felt almost like a blur. I was so bored, I barely remembered anything. Listening to everyone sob about how great he was was irritating me.

After that, I went straight to my room.

Nobody questioned it.

"Women are highly sensitive, after all. It's best to just let them be." The duke commented, as usual, while watching me ascend the stairs. "They simply aren't as strong as us men."

I mean, he was correct about women being sensitive. However, not sensitive like a delicate china pot.

Sensitive like a bomb.

I gently laid myself on my bed and gazed at the ceiling. I let out a long sigh.

Only a few more of them to go.
