I kicked the wall and screamed in frustration.

Five attempted murders.

And Gray had managed to ruin every single one.

Looks like it's time to get desperate.

--

I was standing next to James near the fireplace, just as planned. A sudden thought came to my mind.

Are you sure this isn't a little too crazy?

I shook my head. How stupid. I've come this far already, haven't I? Sometimes sacrifice is necessary for success.

"Hey could you get me that book over there?" I pointed.

"Okay?" He replied, a little confused as to why I couldn't get it myself.

He approached the bookshelf until he was right in front of the huge, open fireplace. My hands started to shake.

"I'm sorry, James." I whispered as I stood behind him.

"For wha-"

Too late.

Poor boy was in the fireplace, screaming in agony as he burned among the flames. Maybe it was a bad idea to have a fireplace so big right in the open.

Too late.

I turned around and saw Gray watching, a horrified look on his face.

"Too late." I faked a traumatized look. "Poor James fell into the fireplace."

Madness is like James's murder. Sometimes it just needs a little push.
