Nino POV

It's Marinette's birthday and we all decide to get her a present. But we have a problem : we have no idea what to get her.

Sam , Chloe and I sit in a circle in Sam's bedroom.

"We could get her shoes."

"She has plenty and can make her own."

"We can get her a drawing book."

"She can probably buy her own."

"Ok Chloe , look. I'm putting out ideas , you can't just keep rejecting them all."

Sam looks at Chloe begrudgingly at Chloe just scoffs.

"Well , excuse me for trying to think of something nice for her !"

"You said no to ice-cream because you said it was ' too ice' ."

I look at the two girls bickering in front of me.

' why aren't there any boys other than me ?'

I try and pacify them.

"Okay dudettes , why don't we do all !?"

They instantly stop and turn to pay attention to me.

Chloe raises her eyebrow.

"All...not a bad idea , DJ."

Sam clears her throat for our attention.

"Not to be rude , Chloe , but not all of our fathers are mayors. We have a minimum allowance unlike you. You're loaded and we're not."

Sam's eyes drift to me.

"Well...unless I give Mari an entire katana collection , I need to look for something else."

Chloe just laughs it off.

I , on the other hand , knew that Sam was entirely serious.

' Okay , Nino , Think ! If you were a teenage girl on her 18th birthday , what would you want ?'

' What would Marinette want ?'

An imaginary light bulb goes off in my head.

"I have an idea !"

They give me a look , urging me to continue.

"We can ...drumroll please..."

Sam obliges and taps her fingers on the wall.

"...go to the amusement park."

Sam immediately stops her drumroll and facepalms.

Chloe groans.

"Nino , we can literally do that any other day."

I shrug.

"Well , we can ask Andre for some birthday ice-cream , take her around the Eiffel tower to draw in her book and you can window-shop too !"

' Just leave me out on the window shopping part.'

"Oh Nino ! You're a genius , this way we all get what we want ! I'll inform Jean Marc about it , Au revoir !"

When Chloe is gone , Sam pouts.

"I really wanted to give her a katana collection."

I playfully slap her arm and she does the same.

Time skip to after they take Mari out , they are sitting in the park.

Still Nino POV

Chloe looks at Mari and asks:

"So , Mari-bug , what was your favorite part of today !"

Sam throws her arm over Marinette and says : " It was obviously the ice-cream and drawing , right Mari."

Marinette opens her mouth to speak but Chloe's dramatic gasp stops it.

"Ridiculous ! Utterly ridiculous ! It was obviously the shopping."

Marinette just chuckled softly :

"It was every part of it , because you were all with me , even if Nino sat out the window shopping."

Chloe and Sam just stare at her baffled.

Mari looks at them confused.

"What ?"

Sam blink out first.

"You've gotten wiser with age , Marinette."

'...did I mention Sam was making lame birthday jokes the entire day.'

Marinette punches her shoulder lightly and laughs.

"Maybe...I mean, you are the youngest among us."

And with that statement , we close off the day playing Among Us.
