Therina didn't know how to react; neither did Theodren. As their thoughts were whirling; their father introduced the dwarves.

"My lords, this is my eldest and only son, Theodren, and this is my elder daughter, Therina. Thailon explained. Ebels, this is Prince Thrain and Lord Fundin of the Blue Mountains."

"At your service, my lords." Both youths bowed low in unison. Prince Thrain chuckled.

"No need for such formalities. Especially when your family may change everything! "

"Change? Change what? " Therina inquired.

"My dear lad and lass; come, sit and I will tell you." Thailon smiled. The two came and sat at the wooden table while their mother, Theila dished up what dinner was left. As Therina blew and sipped her soup as her father went on to share the news.

"And so with some of us intercepting what orcs we can before the main attack, we might succeed and take back Moria! This mission includes: your mother, sister, myself....and a few others."
Therina objected before Thrain could add anything.

"Are we sure that this is a good idea? Our people are few and far between! What happens should we fail? " Therina grumbled.

"What happens to our family...." Theodren sighed.

"The dwarve-" Therina started.

"Therina! That's enough! King Thror has thought long and hard about this. What are we to do while they fight for what is theirs. "
Thailon scolded. Theodren, guiltily looked down at his hands.

"M'lady, I assure you that we have indeed thought long and hard about this mission. Even our own families are at risk. We only want what is ours; and we only ask for your help in doing so." Thrain reassured, with concern and Fundin nodded in support.
Both Theodren and Therina looked at each other and sighed. If this were to happen the way that they planned then...a lot could become better. But...there might be something else something...more dangerous and deadly. There was just something about this mission that didn't feel right; she just knew it. Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't see when her brother, sister, and parents shook the dwarf lords' hands in agreement.

"Therina, what say you?" The soft voice of her mother asked. She took one final look around her and then somewhat reluctantly, grasped the prince's beefy forearm.

"Well it's been a pleasure to meet you and to know that we have allies, willing to aid us. Good night, men merag!" Thrain said almost cheerfully. All Therina could do is nod bitter-sweetly as the two dwarves walked out into the night. She then turned, went to her room and closed the door. She let out a shaky breath that she had been holding, apparently. Therina got dressed for night and laid down half-asleep. Little did she or anyone else in her family know; that this would be the last peaceful night together....for a long time.

Time skip- before battle begins

Boots thudded along the road and the occasional clink of metal on metal is heard. They were marching to war. They were marching to their future and destruction. Their fate, death and doom. Never to return the same again.....
