JENNIE

I wish I could say that my Elite life is the same with my previous school life, but it's not. It's a whole new environment. The Elites are very different with my previous classmates in the common class. Once Miss Park decided to start her lesson, everyone suddenly became stiff and well-behaved. There are no chatting, no sleeping or daydreaming in the class. The Elites are well-mannered, and they all look classy and elegant even they are just listening to the teacher. They will only speak if the teacher called their name, and what really amazed me is that they can all answer the teacher's question without any difficulty. Here in the Elite class, the competition is very tough because everyone is a genius. I know that my ranking will never go up here because of my status in life, but I do hope that I can cope up with them in terms of my academic skills.

It's only the first day of school for the Elites, but we are already studying an advance lesson in Business Mathematics, Physics, and History. I'm surprised as well because I have new professors here, and they are all specialist in their expertise. Like Miss Park, she is a professional foreign language teacher. Another one is my new History teacher, he is a well-known historian here in Korea. Gosh, I have goosebumps when his giving his lesson. How can the school afford this advance learning? Maybe the Elites are paying those professionals and not the school.

The truth is I'm very thankful for this opportunity. I'm very grateful because I will gain more knowledge and experiences that I can use in the future. But still, I have this uneasy feeling inside of me. I know I'm an outcast here and I can feel it right now through the intense glare of Irene Bae to me.

It's our break time now and Rosé immediately dragged me here in the cafeteria to eat with her and Jisoo. The three of us are sitting together while on the other table is where Irene sits with Seulgi and Tzuyu. The small lady bad news keeps looking at us and most of the time she's glaring at me. What's wrong with her? I haven't done anything wrong with her. If she badly wants that desk, I can still give it to her. I'm still on my thoughts when Rosé suddenly speaks.

"Why are you not eating Jennie? Don't you like the food?" She asked worriedly.

"I-i love it." I suddenly answered her, then I tasted my chicken Alfredo pasta. It's my first time to eat this. She smiles to me then she continues eating her southwestern chicken salad.

While eating, I start to scrutinize our surroundings. The place looks more of a high-class restaurant than a school cafeteria. I still can't believe that we have a place like this inside of the school. If Nayeon sees this place she will be thrilled. I'm still looking around us when my eyes landed to Irene's table, and guess what, she's still glaring at me. I suddenly looked away and sighed deeply. Jisoo noticed me and looked at me with furrowed brows.

"What's wrong Jennie?" Jisoo asked. Rosé looks at me as well, but she continues eating her food.

"Is she mad at me?" I asked them in a lower voice.

"Who?" Jisoo asked.

"That Lady Irene, she keeps glaring at me since this morning." I said to them still in a lower voice.

"Don't call her lady, she will only think too highly of herself more. Just don't mind her Jennie, she's only envious of you right now." Jisoo said and Rosé nodded on her statement, then we saw Irene and the others stand up on their seat, then she glares at me one last time before they get out of the cafeteria.

"But why is she envious of me? I am no one. She even emphasizes that I'm just a commoner." I asked worriedly. It really worries me now because it might affect my father's job because he is working in one of the Bae's companies.

"It's because of Lisa." Rosé said like it's not a big deal.

"Lisa? What's about me and Lisa? We are not even close." I explained to them.
